Do you believe the Likud Zionist version of history that, in 1946-8, out of nearly one million indigenous Arabs whose families had lived and farmed in Palestine for over a thousand years, 700,000 voluntarily abandoned their homes, farms and possessions merely because they didn't want to live next to a peaceful Jewish minority migrant community from Europe,
or
Do you believe that 3/4 million Palestinian Arabs were forced to flee for their lives, leaving everything behind, in the face of the massacre of innocent families by armed European Zionist gangs who had committed documented atrocities such as the massacre in the Arab village of Deir Yassin where 107 Palestinians were killed, including women and children—some were shot, while others died when hand grenades were thrown into their homes.
Or the terrorist bombing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, in which 92 died. Or the incident in July 1947, during the Jewish insurgency, in which Irgun militants kidnapped two British Army Intelligence Corps NCOs, Sergeants Martin and Paice whose booby-trapped bodies were later found hanging from trees in a eucalyptus grove near Netanya.
During 1947-8 the LEHI and Irgun militants razed more than 400 Muslim villages in the UN-sanctioned occupation of Palestine. Most were subsequently replaced by Israeli towns and villages, and then renamed so there is now little trace. It was a catastrophe that was authorized by a then newly established (minority) United Nations Assembly, after WW2, that wanted to rid Europe of its thousands of stateless, Jewish survivors from the Nazi Holocaust. For Europe (and America) it was advantageous; for Palestine it was an unmitigated tragedy that dispossessed 700,000 innocent people in the name of political expediency.
That tragedy still persists today, more than half a century later. And is still denied by those who caused it. (There are, however, others who do admit the ethnic-cleansing but, in defence, maintain it was balanced by the subsequent expulsion of Jewish communities from other Muslim countries).
That is not good reporting but deceptive reporting. If you have a point, make it, dont try to fool people with select information and their own incorrect evaluations as the problem when not correct, but maintain dignity in reporting truth and fact.
In the period of time that the reporter shows, it was in fact jews who were oppressed and yes, sometimes they responded just as horrifically. This is the horror of human retaliation. It treats cruelty with cruelty. It does not mean that zionism or a jewish state started the problem. The problem is stated by many accdemics, because of the arab defiance to allow jews to live beside muslims. It has been that way for over a millenium. This is evidenced by the many arab attrocities that were committed upon the jews before this timeline, mainly in the very early part of the century. 1906 and on.
As for people leaving Israel during the war with arab nations.......notice I said arab nations. Every arab nation encompassing Israel at the time and many muslim support states also. So, this was not a war Israel started, but rather a war arabs started. There you go. Arabs again. Why do they keep popping up here. Yet reporters keep saying what lovely Little rodents running so free in your kitchen lol. These Little rodents are pests to be destroyed or they will créate disease and kill you in your own kitchen. Nothing lovely about rodents in the kitchen or arabs in your face. Reporters need to report facts and not act like trolls.
Those people who left Israel were arabs. They left in a time of war. At that time, in this world, you had a choice to expell or intern people who had ancestorial links to the enemy. I do believe some of these arabs were expelled for their view and actions against the state. The fact they were not just shot says a lot for Israel. Many arabs just left. Most just left. This is because they were under the view that arabs would come in great numbers and kill all jews in the land. Would you or I want to be branded an arab traitor at that time. Living with the enemy. Not likely...surely not likely for me. I especially would leave if I was just a poor arab who was promised the land and shop and crops of the jews after the arab armies did my dirty work for me and killed them all as they claimed.. Look how tjews thrived compared to what I didnt have. Arabs offered incentive along with fear. get out of the way and let us do our job.
So, why did arabs need to offer incentive to arabs to leave, when they had fear of reprisal, to do the job. Thats simple. About 1/4 of arabs liked Israel how it was. They did not let their mulimism deny them the greater vison of what they could accomplish alongside jews. Many had already started accomplishing. They would not give that up. Now the interesting part is......this is the 25% or 1/4 that the reporter did not talk about. The forgotten people. Its easy to talk about people who left and why.
We can all speculate. But thats all it is.....specualtion. The truth is found in the 1/4 of arabs that remained. These people were not intimidated. These people would not clear the way for arabs to slaughter jews. In fact...these people would stand beside jews as pictures of the war will demonstrate. Many arab israelis fought alongside jews in the war. For a reason. Truth, honor, dignity, humanity, but mostly, simply because of the fact it was home. With Friends. The arabs were at home in peace with Friends. You can not understand how much arab muslims hated that fact. It still hurts arabs like hell today. Its why there has been constant war since. It was utter humiliation for muslims. Not just loosing the war...but loosing it to jew and arab alike. The arabs in Israel earned there part of Israel...not like the rejects that hang around outside chanting war all the time that never wanted to work for anything, never wanted to share anything, and let themselves be fooled in their radical old arab ways to abandon Friends and take what was left after the conflict. These were the traitors. People who later named themselves after the philistine and called themselves palestinians as an insult to jews. The term palestinian is in reference to all Israel...not palestine as mapped. But all the área of palestine. If the world recognises this fast of a "palestinian" people, you are recogniszing the right of traitiors to use tricks to take what even their own people, real "palestinians" fought for. The people living inside Israel are in fact the real palestinians. Jews and arabs were born in the homeland are palestinians, but the term was dropped when the state was named "Israel".....not palestine.
