Russia and Syria's armed forces are utilizing new methods of conducting warfare against ISIL militants, political analyst Nabil Michael told Press TV in an interview.
"In the two [Persian] Gulf wars, the technique was one of a heavy bombardment campaign that would last for a month or six weeks and then ground troops would move in."
"What we are seeing is a coincidence or a parallel effort between the air force and the ground campaign," Michael told Press TV.
But in this case the "Syrian armed forces and the Russian advisors did not wait for five, six weeks to start a ground assault; quite the opposite. It took them a few days to follow up on what the air force has achieved in terms of cleaning up the landscape," said Michael.
He further said that Russia has positioned its strategy and power structure in a way that it has made itself a magnet for other forces' effort.
"Shia militias, the Kurdish militias, many Sunnis, Christians will all find the presence of the Russian military appealing. This is why I expect the surrender of ISIL troops, and forces soon will find many surrendering scenes on TV screens, and we will [hear] about this [on] the radio," the analyst said, Press TV reported.
Michael further noted that there are coordinated efforts between different militias — Kurdish, Shias, Sunnis, Christians, with the Russian-Syrian/Iraqi troops, and that will help the campaign become more widespread.

But then there was a tall thin man at the back of Triggs who feigned fear of Tango and yo-yoed his poodle's leash in what I imagine was an imitation of baiting. This resulted in my being scraped around on the blacktop holding onto Tango's leash . My reaction was to call Gene Kable, the police officer who was also the animal control officer. I made a detailed report of this incident the results of which was later this same man walked a large Airedale in front of the 8783 building, Tango pushing open the door, me following, and a repeat of my blacktop scrubbing.
You may draw your own conclusions as to the cause and effect there but there is a larger lesson.
The first incident was to make me fear the result of the dog scene, and the second was more public to demonstrate that my fear would keep me from rushing in. Psych 101.
My point here is to show that Psych 101 works on nations also.
The US publicly and loudly affixed accusations and sanctions which would naturally make the recipient slow to forget and forgive. Then one offers the hand of friendship graciously and publicly to show how the accused is a grudge holder. The accused rejects the hand of friendship churlishly. Psych 101 again.
The above article actually demonstrates how the tables can be turned in this psy war. Russia dove into the second dog-fight not dreading the outcome of the first--Afghanistan--and then extended the hand of friendship. As the US had already made plans to do the same only later, we fell into the trap of being churlish and rejected the hand of friendship. Now the kudos go the the mop up crew in this psy war.
