Image

Comment: More rain in California in one day than it got in the past year, a record cold winter in the U.S., a "1 in 100 years" flooding event in New Zealand, a meteor explosion that shook homes in New Mexico, giant hailstones in places that don't usually get any hail, record earthquakes in California, the Andaman Islands and all along the Ring of Fire, two meteor fireballs lighting up the East coast of Canada and northern U.S. states in the space of 24 hours, landslides and flash-flooding putting out wildfires in Western U.S. states, and the "worst flooding in living memory" on the Solomon Islands (at the same time as a strong earthquake)...

The following video compilation is a sample of just some of the planetary upheaval recorded in the last month.

Large sinkhole opens up in Grayson Valley, Alabama

Image
The flood-waters have receded, leaving behind a big mess in some places, including a big sinkhole in one neighborhood.

A sinkhole opened up on Pine Tree Lane just off of Brewster Road in the Grayson Valley area of Birmingham. Police say the hole is about 6 feet deep.

Traffic has been blocked off so if you drive in that area you'll need to find another way around. The worry is that the water coming out from under the road will soon make the whole street collapse.

The New Normal: Sinkholes still plague Palmyra, Pennsylvania

Image
© Earl Brightbill โ€” Lebanon Daily NewsA front end loader is used to fix a sinkhole on South Grant Street south of Cherry Street in Palmyra on Monday. Borough officials believe the new sinkhole may be connected to a hole that opened at a nearby property in the past few weeks ago.
With April showers and the spring thaw, sinkholes are starting to open again around Palmyra.

On Monday, borough crews worked on filling a new sinkhole that was reported during the weekend in an alley along the 300 block of East Cherry Street between South Harrison and South Grant streets. Crews also were patching a sinkhole about two feet in diameter that reopened on South Grant Street on Friday, according to a borough official.

The latest sinkhole was reported Sunday in an alley next to 320 E. Cherry St., borough manager Roger Powl said. He believes it may be connected to a sinkhole that opened on that property at the rear of the house two or three weeks ago.

"It's probably the same hole. It's just getting larger," he said. "It's about the diameter of a basketball."

In October, three large sinkholes opened in the same block of East Cherry Street between the alley and South Grant Street, forcing the evacuation of several families. Residents have been concerned that sinkholes will migrate.

Work to repair sinkhole starts in Derry Township, Pennsylvania

Image
PennDOT road crews have started work to repair a sinkhole along Route 422 at the east end of Derry Township.

PennDOT crews will first excavate and determine the size of the sinkhole. Depending on the size, the repair work may take most of the day to complete, according to a PennDOT news release.

The repair work is affecting both directions of Route 422, and a traffic signal at the intersection of East Derry Road has been placed on flash. Flaggers are assisting drivers through the work area.

Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes or allow additional time in their travel plans in order to avoid delays.

The work was originally scheduled for Monday, but was postponed because of rain.

Crawley, UK: Highway shut for a week due to large sinkhole

Image
CLOSED: The dual carriageway is set to be shut for more than a week
One side of a dual carriageway in Crawley where a "sink hole" has emerged is expected to be closed for more than a week, it has been revealed this morning (Monday).

It appeared yesterday afternoon (Sunday) on the northbound side of the A23 (London Road) between the Fleming Way roundabout, where Astral Towers is based, and the roundabout for Lowfield Heath, close to Gatwick Airport.

A Thames Water spokeswoman described the hole as a "void" as it had been caused by a pressured pipe leaking, rather than a sinkhole, as they occur naturally.

She added: "Thames Water engineers are investigating a leak on a large pressurised sewer pipe beneath the A23 between Crawley and Gatwick Airport.

Hillary Clinton poses with Pussy Riot

Former Secretary of State and presumed 2016 Democratic presidential front-runner, Hilary Clinton took time on Thursday at the fifth annual Women in the World Summit in New York to pose for a photo with two members of the Russian punk protest group Pussy Riot.

A photograph of Hillary Clinton with two members of the Russian punk rock protest band taken on Thursday evening has been tweeted by Mrs. Clinton with the message:

Great to meet the strong & brave young women from #PussyRiot, who refuse to let their voices be silenced in #Russia.

The tweet quickly went viral with close to 5,000 favorites and close to 4,100 retweets in six hours.

Comment: For more on the "irony" of Mrs. Clinton's support of Pussy Riot see Joe Quinn's SOTT article:
'Pussy Riot', the U.S. State Department and Economic Shock Therapy
When the US government sanctioned the beating and arrest of US citizens for swaying from side to side in the Jefferson Memorial a couple of years ago, it provoked no response from the Western media (and therefore the Western zombie-citizens who rely entirely on the media for their 'opinions'). Yet the Russian government, sorry, 'Putin' (because everyone knows Putin is a dictator, right?) is broadly denounced as a 'tyrant' by these same Western zombies (again because their 'outraged opinion' was deftly inserted into their brains by the Western media) for putting a stop to the ugly spectacle of deranged Russian women sticking chickens up their vaginas in supermarkets, daubing outlines of phalli on bridges, staging 'orgies' in a museum and defiling the peace and tranquility of Russian Orthodox churches as part of their three year long international attack on the Russian government.

Disconnect? For sure, but, like I said, don't expect any logic from the collective mind of the citizens of Western zombie nations. All you can hope to do is understand the psychopathic logic of Western governments and the way it infects the minds and manipulates the emotions of Western citizens.

'Pussy Riot', or 11 Russian women between the ages of 20-33, has received direct moral support from the US State Department and likely indirect financial support, and appears to be one aspect of the US government's decade-long attempt to undermine Russian society and its president, Vladimir Putin.

NED-funded Oksana Chelysheva of the US State Department-funded "Russian-Chechen Friendship Society, who is also coordinator of the 'Pussy Riot' campaign in Finland. For the last 30 years the US State Department has created and used phony NGOs in many countries as an advance guard for 'regime change'. Funneling $billions into 'student' and 'activist' groups in foreign countries, the US government attempts to carefully prepare the local population for 'revolution' that is not of their making and has nothing to do with improving their lot (if indeed it needs improving) and everything to do with getting rid of a, usually democratically-elected, leader of a sovereign country because, in one way or another, he or she refuses to roll over and play dead for 'pax americana'.

Flint City plans to mend large sinkhole in local neighborhood, Michigan

Image
What started out as a small inconvenience, turned into a major problem for some residents in this Flint neighborhood.

Brittney Lewis and her sister say the growing sinkhole is just steps away from their Flint home near the intersection of Dupont and Bagley Streets.

"it's real big now, scary," Brittney said.

It was just a small divot less than a week ago...and now measures over six feet at its widest point. It's no wonder concerns are growing as fast as the sinkhole itself.

"I'm nervous about the kids running back and forth across the street and they might fall down. That's why I tell my little sister, just stay up here by the driveway and the cars," said Brittney.

The school busses. They mostly come down right there. It makes me nervous," said Sterlisha Alexander, who lives across the street from the sinkhole.

While some residents are worried, others have met the situation with a sense of humor and trust Flint will fix it.

"Michigan has brought a little bit of Florida to us and we have our own sinkhole. Flint's trying, but it's going to take some time," said Terry Schlosser who lives in the neighborhood of the sinkhole.

Two cars trapped by sinkhole in Detroit, Michigan

Image

A fresh sinkhole in Detroit along McClellan and Felch streets, near Gratiot Avenue, trapped two vehicles Friday evening.

Davonte Reed says he thought he was driving over a drainage backup when his Ford Focus became abruptly stuck in the ground.

"It's - BOOM. I just leaned forward, my face hit the steering wheel, and it's just crazy," he says.

He says he called police who told he they couldn't provide assistance, and suggested he call a tow truck. While Reed was waiting to be towed, he called and alerted FOX 2 to his situation and we sent a crew to the scene.

The tow truck came and pulled out Reed's vehicle. But, shortly after, a second vehicle drove over the same spot and also got lodged in the sinkhole because no barricade had been placed.

That accident was caught on FOX 2 camera. The photographer was shooting the tow truck driving away from the scene, carrying the Ford Focus. In just a matter of seconds after the tow truck drove out of the shot, the Jeep drives into the sinkhole. The photographer unfortunately did not have time to warn the driver because the tow truck was blocking his line of sight, and when he realized what was happening it was too late.
