Mysterious Chunk Of Ice Falls To Earth

Silverdale, Washington -- According to a construction crew working on a Silverdale apartment complex, several chunks of ice fell from the sky, pelting the site late Wednesday.

"This is a piece that came off that hit and landed right over there -- what's left of it, about a third of it maybe," witness Bill Clark said.

The chunks of ice fell from the sky, punching a hole in the roof of an awning and another tearing the gutter off the side of a building.

"One hit right on this roof and went down through and caused that hole there, and then we had one explode up in that parking lot, and one exploded down in our lower parking lot," witness Kyle Harmia said.

UFOs over Lewiston, Michigan; Air Force sends jets to intercept

Claims of UFOs flying over Lewiston Wednesday night were quickly discredited by officials who said they were conducting military training.

Area resident Jeff Nickert, who called the Herald Times at approximately 5:30 a.m. Thursday, is not convinced.

"It kinda freaked me out," said the Lewiston man in a telephone interview Thursday. "I never saw anything like this in my life."

Nickert explained seeing "electricity floating through the air" or "a mass of energy floating through the air" when he returned home from work at approximately 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Comment: Sounds familiar. Relevant quote: ""I never saw anything like this in my life."

From 2002:
'For Renny Rogers, it was strange enough that military jets were flying low over his home in Waldorf in the middle of the night. It was what he thinks he saw when he headed outside to look early yesterday that floored him.

"It was this object, this light-blue object, traveling at a phenomenal rate of speed," Rogers said. "This Air Force jet was right behind it, chasing it, but the object was just leaving him in the dust. I told my neighbor, 'I think those jets are chasing a UFO.' " ... "It looked like a shooting star with no trailing mist," he said. "I've never seen anything like it."'

Canada: Deaths raise spectre of haunted house; Thai workers refuse to return to house where two countrymen died

When Phunsak Phathong died while sleeping in a Blenheim farmhouse, his fellow migrant workers from Thailand spent several weeks bunking together in the living room.

The first night the unnerved Thai workers returned to their own rooms, they awoke to find Ulai Buapatcha -- who was sleeping in Phathong's old bed -- also dead.

That, the surviving migrants say, is more than a coincidence. It's proof of something supernatural.

Despite their gentle and accommodating nature, the group is refusing to move back in.

"They're concern is that the place is haunted," said Derry McKeever of the advocacy group Friends of Farmworkers. "They asked me (Monday) night, 'What is going on here?' "

Chile: The Chupacabras Return

Raul Núñez, director of Chile's IIEE and regular contributor to Inexplicata, recently made us aware of the efforts of Ivan Voreved, another researcher affiliated with the IIEE. Mr. Voreved has been investigating a series of new farm animal deaths in Chile's 6th Region in which the Chupacabras or IEA - Intruso Esporadico Agresivo (Sporadic Aggressive Intruder, the term preferred by researchers) appears to be the culprit.

Voreved notes that these attacks no longer appear to generate the media furor that they did six years ago, when Chile was wracked by its first major experience with the paranormal predator. The result has been a greater willingness on the part of experiencers to speak to serious researchers, in the awareness that they will not be laughed at or turned into figures of fun by big-city reporters. "These details," he writes, "could in time yield positive results toward explaining the phenomenon, which has achieved sociological proportions in many parts of the world."

'Merman' spotted in Caspian

Fishermen claim to have spotted an amphibious creature resembling a human in the Caspian sea.

Gafar Gasanof, the captain of the Baku, an Azeri trawler, told Iranian newspaper Zindagi: "The creature was swimming a parallel course near the boat for a long time.

"At the beginning we thought it was a big fish, but then we spotted hair on the head of the monster and his fins looked pretty strange, the front part of his body was equipped with arms."

According to the paper the 'man of the sea' has been spotted with increasing regularity since off-shore oil production began in the Caspian.

Air France pilot backs recent Channel Islands UFO sighting

Captain Jean-Charles Duboc claimed he saw a huge object over Paris on 28 January 1994 while flying an Airbus 320 from Nice to London.

It was well documented in the French media and on internet sites.

The 55-year-old's sighting was supported by fellow flight crew and French radar, which picked up the object about 25 miles east of Paris for 50 seconds.

"The observation of Captain Ray Bowyer is really impressive for several reasons", he said.

"The fact it was daytime, a huge size, low altitude, nine minutes of sighting, passengers and another crew to confirm it.

"In fact, Captain Bowyer's observation is very similar to mine, except there was two objects and they were very low."

Question

Vanished! Unexplained Disappearances

History is peppered with intriguing tales of people who, for all intents and purposes, inexplicably vanish from the face of the earth without a trace. These stories - some of the most fascinating in the annals of the unexplained - vary from being well-documented to having the flavor of mere legend and folklore. But they are all fascinating because they force us to question the solidity of our existence. Where did these vanished people go? A time portal? Another dimension? Into a UFO? Consider those chilling possibilities as you read these amazing reports:

The Bennington Triangle

Between 1920 and 1950, Bennington, Vermont was the site of several completely unexplained disappearances:

On December 1, 1949, Mr. Tetford vanished from a crowded bus. Tetford was on his way home to Bennington from a trip to St. Albans, Vermont. Tetford, an ex-soldier who lived in the Soldier's Home in Bennington, was sitting on the bus with 14 other passengers. They all testified to seeing him there, sleeping in his seat. When the bus reached its destination, however, Tetford was gone, although his belongings were still on the luggage rack and a bus timetable lay open on his empty seat. Tetford has never returned or been found.

Question

Mount Glastonbury: Window to an Alternate Universe?

Around Bennington, Vermont, no fewer than seven people disappeared between the years 1945 and 1950. There was no evidence to suggest murder (only one of those to have vanished was ever found - dead, but in a place where it is almost certain that her body would have been found by earlier searchers) but the citizens of Bennington could explain the mysterious events only by inventing a particularly cunning madman, a killer who emerged from nowhere, killed and returned to obscurity until his perverse passions once again drove him to prowl for a fresh victim.

To some people, this mysterious killer was known as the 'Bennington Ripper', but other people called him (or her) the 'Mad Murderer of the Long Trail'.This killer derived his name from a hikers' footpath running 422 kilometers along or not far from the crest of Vermont's Green Mountains. One of the lesser peaks of the mountain chain is Mount Glastonbury, and it was somewhere on the 13 kilometers of trail that goes over the peak that seven people mysteriously vanished.

First to go was a 75 year old woodsman named Middie Rivers. He is said to have known the Long Trail better than most people know their own living room, yet on 12 November 1945, he set out to hunt deer and was never seen again. The last that anybody ever saw of him was about thirty kilometers from the town of Bennington, near the Mount Glastonbury entrance to the Trail.

Colombia in the dark about nationwide blackout

Bogota, Colombia -- A nationwide blackout hit Colombia on Thursday, with authorities struggling to determine the cause of the electrical grid's collapse.

He said the blackout "appears to have affected the entire country."
