Pedophile volunteers wanted for chemical castration trial

Swedish scientists are using a British crowdfunding website to raise money for a controversial chemical castration program aimed at un-convicted pedophiles who feel they can't control their sexual urges.

The group of scientists are promoting their work in the UK, where British psychiatrists have expressed interest in the project.

The treatment would involve men voluntarily taking drugs that reduce their sex drive.

Britain already has a pilot scheme, co-managed by the National Health Service (NHS), which began in 2008 at Whatton Prison in Nottinghamshire and is currently being extended across the country.

The UK's chemical castration program has thus far treated more than 100 convicted sex offenders.

However the Swedish scheme - dubbed Priotab - would take the unprecedented step of treating men in the general population who are worried about their sexual urges.

In addition to trialing chemical castration, they will also attempt to find "biomarkers" - substances in the blood or brain activity that identifies individuals who could pose a danger to children.

Priotab lead researcher Dr Christoffer Rahm, from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, said the project is aimed at preventing abuse before it occurs.

Comment: If a pedophile sees nothing wrong with their abuse of children, then castrating them physically or chemically will likely do nothing to stop their abusive behaviors. In fact, it may make things worse. The best thing these researchers could do to prevent child sexual abuse would be to share research and methods on how to spot sexual predators, so that parents can learn how to identify pedophiles and take steps to protect their children.

Lawsuit claims undercover cop and FBI agent beat innocent man unconscious without identifying themselves as police

In a case of mistaken identity, an undercover cop and an FBI agent beat an innocent college student unconscious because he matched a vague description of a different suspect. After a jury acquitted him of felony charges, the young man recently filed a lawsuit against the officers for using unreasonable force and ordering witnesses to delete footage taken of the incident.

On July 18, 2014, Grand Valley State University student James King was walking to his job when FBI Special Agent Douglas Brownback and Grand Rapids Police Detective Todd Allen approached him asking for identification. After King told them that he didn't have his ID with him, the undercover cops ordered him to lean against an unmarked SUV with his hands behind his head. As King complied and Brownback took his wallet, King reportedly asked them, "Are you mugging me?"

When the unshaven, plainclothes cops refused to reply or identify themselves as law enforcement officers, King fled in fear for his life. According to King's lawsuit, the then-21-year-old student managed to run three steps before the undercover cops tackled him to the ground. Before being choked unconscious, King screamed for witnesses to call the police.

Hysterical principal threatens parents with arrest for walking their children to and from school

bear branch elementary school
Parents are removing their children from Bear Branch Elementary School after the principal allegedly banned them from school grounds and threatened violators with arrest.

Parents told Fox 26 that Bear Branch principal Holly Ray instituted a new policy at the beginning of the year that banned parents from walking their students to or from the school building, forcing them to either wait in a long car line or put their kids on the bus.

"She's threatening to arrest people," parent Wendy Jarman said.

Jarman told Fox 26 she used to escort her children to school, but Ray's decision to ban the practice and Montgomery County Constables who are enforcing the principal's decree convinced her to transfer her kids to private school.

"This has happened to many parents," Jarman said. "They have been cited. They have been threatened, if they step one foot on school property, they will be arrested and charged with who knows what."

Venezuelan workers will get Fridays off in the months of April and May, in a bid to save energy in the black-out hit country, the president said.

President Nicolas Maduro said Venezuelans will have "long weekends" in an appearance on state television on Wednesday night, announcing the measure as part of a 60-day plan to fight a power crunch.

"This plan for 60 days, for two months, will allow the country to get through the most difficult period with the most risk. I call on families, on the youth, to join this plan with discipline, with conscience and extreme collaboration to confront this extreme situation," Maduro said.

Additional protests in other states with a larger call to action for inmates to protest prison abuses starting in September.

On Monday, prison inmates around the United States called for a series of strikes against forced labor, broken parole systems, abusive prison policies, and solitary confinement, along with calls for better health care and generally more humane living conditions.

In Texas alone, inmates at five major prisons refused to leave their cells Monday with a letter circulating among the prisons listing a series of grievances ranging from an end to the financially-ruinous $100 medical co-pays to a call for the state to drastically downsize the state's incarcerated population.

"Texas's prisoners are the slaves of today, and that slavery affects our society economically, morally and politically," stated the five-page letter announcing the strike. "Beginning on April 4, 2016, all inmates around Texas will stop all labor in order to get the attention from politicians and Texas's community alike."

Hysteria! College students freak out and mistake priest for KKK member

On Monday, students at Indiana University Bloomington mistook a priest for a Ku Klux Klan member, taking to social media to express their fear of the alleged Klansman, who they claimed was carrying a whip, and dressed in "white robes."

Rumors of a Klansman on campus were extinguished after it was pointed out that the passerby was actually a priest innocently making his way through Bloomington, Indiana. When sighted on campus, students thought his white robes indicated an affiliation with the KKK.

Comment: "This is what happens when there is miscommunication." This is also what happens a nation is primed to look for threats around every corner and college students behave more like kindergartners than adults.

A two-year national study conducted by the Department of Veterans Affairs found that 280 out of some 2,000 veterans reported suicidal thinking. At more than triple the rate for the general public, the authors hope to highlight ways to address the issue.

The first wave of the study was conducted in 2011, with a second following in 2013. The research was led by Dr. Robert Pietrzak of the Clinical Neuroscience Division of the VA's National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Veterans were contacted twice and asked if they had "experienced suicidal thoughts in the past two weeks," among other questions.

Comment: Another recent study has shown that the suicide rate among recent veterans is 50 percent higher than non-military civilians; 22 veterans take their own lives every day. The US government's lack of compassion for its soldiers mirrors the its complete moral bankruptcy and contempt for humanity.

Florida governor Rick Scott was given a proverbial tongue lashing Tuesday when a woman publicly shamed him for his recent signing of an anti-abortion bill and Medicaid cut.

Scott was attempting to buy a coffee at a local Gainesville Starbucks when Lake Worth activist Cara Jennings decided to confront him about cutting funding to clinics that provide abortions.

"You stripped women of access to public health care. Shame on you Rick Scott," she yelled.

When Scott directed the former commissioner for Lake Worth to the county hall clinic the conversation soon escalated.
