Ukraine's 'independent' institutions collapse as Trump unplugs the ATM

The freeze on American aid has washed a massive media and NGO hoax up to the surface.

Apparently, it's a hallmark of "independent" media if the US President breaks wind and, just minutes later, you're blown away.

A few days ago, newly re-minted US President Donald Trump put the brakes on internal sabotage of his own administration by ordering the State Department to freeze American funding of foreign aid. Oh, won't someone think of the starving children? Well, critics can unclutch their pearl necklaces because he did exactly that, actually. The freeze doesn't apply to emergency food assistance, as Reuters has reported.

"This is lunacy. This will kill people," a former official for CIA handmaiden, USAID, now president of Refugees International, told Reuters. A couple of years ago, his organization was promoting the idea that the big threat to Syrians was the stability - or "normalization", as it had said, under former President Bashar Assad. Must just be a coincidence that it's also the position of those who failed at regime change and were looking for a way to keep that dream alive. In December 2024, his organization found "no substantial, confirmed cases of corruption among Ukrainian partners." Yeah, well, maybe that's because the same organization also admits that only 1% of the aid actually makes it into the hands of local Ukrainian organizations. Doesn't sound like the Ukrainian people are going to much miss those few crumbs that they've been tossed by their Western establishment ideological colonizers.

Comment: Fulcrum point reached - finally? Sentiment, tactics, blow back are reversing direction. A Trumpet is sounding.

"In private meetings and at public events, elected Democrats appear leaderless, rudderless and divided. They disagree over how often and how stridently to oppose Mr. Trump. They have no shared understanding of why they lost the election, never mind how they can win in the future."

Maybe that's because the four years of "Joe Biden" was little more than a vaudeville show in front of the curtain, distracting you from what was going on backstage — the world's biggest political racketeering operation as conducted by a vast bureaucracy gone wild and mad: the blob in florid, mature efflorescence, doing its blob-thing to the max, looting and punking the nation. Now it is all being uncovered, disclosed, unmasked.

China to sue US over Trump's new tariffs

The US president has placed restrictions on Chinese goods in what he said was retaliation for failing to stem the flow of migrants and drugs into America.

China will file a lawsuit at the World Trade Organization (WTO) and take other retaliatory measures against US President Donald Trump's new tariffs on its goods, the Commerce Ministry said in a statement on Sunday. According to the statement, Beijing sees Washington's unilateral tariff increase as "seriously violating" WTO rules.

Trump announced new tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada on Saturday, citing concerns over the three countries' failures in stemming the flow of migrants and illegal drugs, such as fentanyl, into the US. In order to hike the tariffs, Trump declared a national economic emergency, invoking the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), which authorizes the president to unilaterally manage imports.

The tariffs, set to enter into effect on February 4, will amount to a 25% tax on all imports from Mexico and most goods from Canada, and a 10% tariff on Chinese goods. According to a fact sheet published by the White House, the tariffs will be in place with no exemptions "until the crisis is alleviated."

Musk claims USAID funded bioweapon research

The billionaire has branded the US Agency for International Development a "criminal organization".

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has accused the US Agency for International Development (USAID) of financing bioweapon research, including projects that allegedly led to the emergence of Covid-19, branding the agency a "criminal organization."

Musk's comment came in response to a post from user @KanekoaTheGreat on Sunday, which claimed that USAID had funneled $53 million to EcoHealth Alliance. The post alleged that these funds were used to support gain-of-function research on coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China, potentially leading to the creation of Covid-19.

Musk wrote:
"Did you know that USAID, using YOUR tax dollars, funded bioweapon research, including COVID-19, that killed millions of people?"
Musk did not elaborate on the allegations, but the post he was responding to further asserted:
"The CIA's deception regarding COVID-19 origins becomes much clearer when considering USAID's long history of serving as a CIA front organization."

Comment: Like a puzzle, all are connected if we truly see the picture.

Canada strikes back with tariffs

Trudeau

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said Canada must stand up for itself and protect its national interests amid US trade restrictions.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced retaliatory 25% tariffs on American goods, hours after US President Donald Trump imposed sweeping trade restrictions on Canadian imports.
"Tonight, I am announcing Canada will be responding to the US trade action with 25% trade tariffs against $155 billion worth of American goods. These tariffs will be far-reaching and include everyday items.

"We will stand strong for Canada. We will stand strong to ensure our countries continue to be the best neighbors in the world."
Canadian leader said, listing alcohol, fruits, vegetables, clothing, and shoes. In addition to direct tariffs, Ottawa is exploring "several non-tariff measures," which could include restrictions on critical minerals, energy procurement, and other trade partnerships. He urged citizens to support domestic businesses.

The first wave of tariffs, covering $30 billion worth of US goods, will take effect on Tuesday, with broader measures following in 21 days to allow Canadian companies to adjust.

Comment: Tariffs-for-Tariffs solves nothing, complicates the flow of commerce, ignores the needs of the people. Trump issued a wake-up call. Trudeau made it a fight.

Trump set to yank US funding for UNRWA, remove America from UN Human Rights Council

U.S. President Donald Trump is expected on Tuesday to stop U.S. engagement with the United Nations Human Rights Council and continue a halt to funding for the U.N. Palestinian relief agency UNRWA, a White House official said on Monday.

The move coincides with a visit to Washington by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has long been critical of UNRWA, accusing the agency of anti-Israel incitement and its staff of being "involved in terrorist activities against Israel."

An UNRWA spokesperson declined to comment on an order that has not yet been issued, describing the agency's financial situation as already "very, very bad".

U.N. Human Rights Council acting spokesperson Pascal Sim said he was unaware of any communication from Washington, but that no formal process existed since the U.S. is not currently a voting member.

Clearest Image Of US Navy's Directed-Energy Weapon Firing Laser Rounds

Lockheed Martin's HELIOS (High Energy Laser with Integrated Optical-Dazzler and Surveillance) weapon has been successfully deployed aboard a US Navy warship. Designed to counter unmanned aerial threats, the high-energy laser weapon operates at a cost of only a few dollars per shot — an extraordinary savings for the Navy, which has a habit of spending tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars per missile interception.

Defense Blog reports that an update on HELIOS was published in a January 2025 report by the US Office of the Director, Operational Test & Evaluation. The report includes an image of the USS Preble deploying its HELIOS weapon system at sea — one of the clearest images of the laser weapon in action to date.

"The US Center for Countermeasures (CCM) supported the Navy's demonstration on USS Preble (DDG 88) to verify and validate the functionality, performance, and capability of the HEL with Integrated Optical Dazzler and Surveillance system against an unmanned aerial vehicle target. CCM collected imagery of the engagements to support the evaluation of system performance," the annual report said.

US seizing Panama & Greenland aimed at China

Despite the temporary window of false hope some perceived the recent US presidential election as, US foreign policy has once again continued onward toward the pursuit of primacy.

While a recent interview with the newly confirmed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio began with promising slogans, it quickly unraveled into threats of overt aggression, including outright calls to seize the Panama Canal and annex Greenland from Denmark under an implicit threat of military force.

While the change in presidential administration is purely superficial, the intense urgency it pursues continuity of agenda with is not. It reflects the rapid rise of China, Russian resilience in the face of US proxy war in Ukraine, and an expanding multipolar world overwriting the US-led unipolar world order at ever-increasing speeds.

Secretary Rubio: Seizing Panama and Annexing Greenland, All Aimed at China

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in a recent interview with Megyn Kelly, the transcript of which was published on the US State Department's official website, began with a discussion about the end of the "unipolar world" and US foreign policy moving forward.

Secretary Rubio would first note:
...it's not normal for the world to simply have a unipolar power. That was not - that was an anomaly. It was a product of the end of the Cold War, but eventually, you were going to reach back to a point where you had a multipolar world, multi-great powers in different parts of the planet. We face that now with China and to some extent, Russia, and then you have rogue states like Iran and North Korea you have to deal with.

So now more than ever, we need to remember that foreign policy should always be about furthering the national interest of the United States and doing so, to the extent possible, avoiding war and armed conflict, which we have seen two times in the last century be very costly.
At face value, this first appears to be a sober, rational, and even welcomed approach to US foreign policy - the realization that the pursuit of US primacy is unsustainable and that the US must accept a multipolar world. Moreover, it appears to suggest that the US' pursuit of a place within this emerging multipolar world should be done "avoiding war and armed conflict."

The problem, of course, is upon closer inspection of Secretary Rubio's words throughout the rest of the interview, it becomes clear that the avoidance of war is predicated not on compromises the US is willing to make to find a constructive place for itself within this multipolar world, but instead on the compromises the US expects nations like Russia and China to make for the US to avoid any sort of compromise or concession at all.

The hidden hand: monstrous conspiracies and the swamp

The trail of evidence almost always leads to the moneylending oligarchies.
Hidden Hand

[This post was originally published at I-System TrendCompass]

Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1744-1812) allegedly said, "Let me issue and control a nation's money and I care not who writes the laws." This statement has been very widely quoted, but what, exactly does it mean? Rothschild's contemporary Napoleon said that, "When a government is dependent upon bankers for money, they and not the leaders of the government control the situation." One of the directors of the Bank of England, Josiah Stamp (1880-1941) said, "Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. ... if you wish to remain the slaves of bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create money and control credit."

Are events spontaneous, or is there a hidden hand?

But it is difficult to relate these quotes with day-to-day events. We can observe our leaders' statements and actions; we can see the activities of corporations and merchants and we can read the news about global events. But if there is a hidden hand secretly directing those events toward certain outcomes, this is not readily discernible and it may only become apparent in patterns of events. Some people believe there's a hidden hand, but others don't and the former are usually dismissed as conspiracy theorists by the latter.

Conspiracy theorists are regularly ridiculed for their views and disqualified in serious discussions. But what, then, of the statement made in 1956 by the FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover who said that, "The individual is handicapped, by coming face-to-face, with a conspiracy so monstrous, he cannot believe it exists. The American mind ... rejects even the assumption that human creatures could espouse a philosophy, which must ultimately destroy all that is good and decent." Was Hoover also a risible conspiracy theorist?

Trump's vision for Palestine: No Palestinians

Netanyahu and Trump

The US president has kicked off his new term with another 'peace initiative' that is really just a gift for Israel.

Once again, US President Donald Trump has waded into the Palestinian issue, proposing radical solutions from a staunchly pro-Israel stance. The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which came into effect on January 19, is set to last 42 days, during which both sides have committed to negotiating further steps towards a resolution. However, the US president expressed skepticism about its longevity, noting the scale of destruction in Gaza.

According to Trump, Gaza has been so thoroughly devastated that it needs to be rebuilt in an entirely different manner. He suggested that Arab nations such as Egypt and Jordan should take in more Palestinian refugees to help bring order to the region. During discussions with Jordan's King Abdullah II, Trump conveyed his desire for the kingdom to accommodate more people, describing the situation in Gaza as "a complete mess." He also intends to raise the issue with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

Trump views the relocation of Gaza's residents to Arab countries as a temporary or even long-term solution. He believes it could offer Palestinians a "fresh start" and contribute to regional stability. However, official Jordanian sources, when commenting on his statement, did not mention the refugee issue - an omission that reflects the reception of Trump's proposals in the Arab world.

Comment: Trump seems oblivious to the fact that the reason Gaza is a "complete mess" is because of Israel's genocidal war on Gaza, funded and supported by US money and weapons. It is also Israel which is at the heart of the instability in region.

Comment: Trump may be good at making deals, but Israel or its ultimate handlers might be better and perhaps presented Trump with an offer he can't refuse.
