Former German Defense Minister: 'String of accusations against Russia are ploy by certain circles in New York and London to take control of Russian natural resources'

Image
Khodorkovsky, a Wall street vulture capitalist the US thinks is rightful heir to Russia's throne.
The US has accused Moscow of violating laws dating back to the 1980s. Washington says Russia has breached a nuclear arms treaty signed with the Soviet Union in 1987, by testing a ground-launch cruise missile. Washington has also strong-armed the International Court in The Hague into fining Russia $50 billion for daring to control its own natural resources, preventing Wall Street from privatizing them. RT is joined by Willy Wimmer, the former State Secretary of the German Ministry of Defense.

SOTT EXCLUSIVE: U.S. president's impotence exposed in leaked Obama-Netanyahu tape

Image
© Bloomberg U.S. President Barack Obama, right, meets with Benjamin Netanyahu, prime minister of Israel in 2011.
One would think that the leader of the most powerful country in the world would be able to have his way with the leader of a small country who is completely financially dependent on the patronage of that most powerful country.

Think again.

Today July 29th, a transcript of a conversation between President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu was leaked and, if true, it's very revealing. Here is the transcript, translated from Hebrew by Israel's Channel One and published by the Times of Israel in English:

So Obama, Merkel, Cameron, Hollande and Renzi - let's call them the Fab Five - got on a video conference call to muster their courage and "increase pressure" asking for a cease-fire in Gaza. Later in the day, Bibi delivers his answer, in plain language.

He remains dead set on achieving his version of a Final Solution to Gaza. With or without "pressure".

So what's left for the Fab Five after having their illustrious Western collective behinds solemnly kicked? They decide to dump Gaza and instead SANCTION RUSSIA! AGAIN! How brilliant is that as an exit strategy?

Spectacular non-entity Tony Blinken, who doubles as deputy national security adviser to Obama, was keen to stress to Western corporate media that the unruly Eurotrash mob is now "determined to act". No, not against Israel because of Gaza; against Russia because of Ukraine. Such a lovely Orwellian symmetry; the extended Two Minutes Hate from Israel towards Gazans morphs into the extended Two Minutes Hate from the "West" towards Russia, mirroring the extended Two Minutes Hate from Kiev towards Eastern Ukrainians.

D'uh! Top Pentagon official says U.S. no safer after 13 years of war

Flynn
© Susan Walsh/AP/FileDefense Intelligence Agency Director Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn (2nd from r.) was among the US intel chiefs testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Capitol Hill last year.
The nation is no safer after 13 years of war, warns a top US military official who leads one of the nation's largest intelligence organizations.

"We have a whole gang of new actors out there that are far more extreme than Al Qaeda," says Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, which employs some 17,000 American intelligence collectors in 140 countries around the world.

That the United States is no safer - and in some respects may be less safe - even after two wars and trillions of dollars could prove to be disappointing news for Americans, noted the journalist questioning General Flynn at the Aspen Security Forum last week.

Still, Flynn was firm on that point. "Yeah, my quick answer is that we're not," he said.

America is less safe today in large part because of the emergence of terrorist groups like the Islamic State, formerly know as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. The group is stoking regional wars in Syria and Iraq that will only continue to increase in complexity, Flynn said.

Then what about the claims from those within the Obama administration that core Al Qaeda is on the run?

On this point, Flynn - a strong personality who is slated to retire from the US military next month after clashing with higher-ups in the intelligence community - took issue as well.

Comment: Since we know that the U.S. essentially created the terrorist group formerly known as ISIS, not only have the 2 wars and trillions of dollars been a total waste, we now have a super-dangerous terror group running around the Middle East further destabilizing the region. Either the freaks running U.S. foreign policy are complete morons, or they just want to watch the world burn.

Kerry angers Israel by trying to broker quick Gaza ceasefire

Image
© Charles Dharapak/Pooll/Reuters
Secretary of State John Kerry has made a significant mistake in how he's pursuing a Gaza cease-fire - and it's not surprising that he has upset both the Israelis and some moderate Palestinians.

Kerry's error has been to put so much emphasis on achieving a quick halt to the bloodshed that he has solidified the role of Hamas, the intractable, unpopular Islamist group that leads Gaza, along with the two hard-line Islamist nations that are its key supporters, Qatar and Turkey. In the process, he has undercut not simply the Israelis but also the Egyptians and the Fatah movement that runs the Palestinian Authority, all of which want to see an end to Hamas rule in Gaza.

A wiser course, which Kerry rejected in his hunt for a quick diplomatic solution, would have been to negotiate the cease-fire through the Palestinian Authority, as part of its future role as the government of Gaza. Hamas agreed last April to bring the authority back to Gaza as part of a unity agreement with Fatah that was brokered by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Kerry has been motivated by two understandable short-term needs: First, he wants to stop the horrific slaughter in Gaza, with its heavy loss of life among Palestinian civilians, including children. Second, he seeks to fulfill the instructions of President Obama, who wants an immediate cease-fire and has become skeptical about solving the knotted Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

U.S. exports to Russia have actually risen since sanctions were imposed

Image
© ROY GUTMAN — MCT
In the months since the United States imposed sanctions on Russian businesses and close associates of President Vladimir Putin's, an odd thing has happened: U.S. exports to Russia have risen.

U.S. Census Bureau foreign trade data show that exports rose 17 percent from March through May _ the most recent months for which the data is available _ compared with the previous three months, before sanctions were imposed. The value of exports has risen in each consecutive month this year, an unusual trend in a trade relationship that historically fluctuates on a monthly basis.

Russian markets account for less than 1 percent of U.S. exports, but what the U.S. sells to Russia is largely high-tech and expensive goods, including technology and equipment for the energy sector, which faces the threat of targeted sanctions.

Brzezinski: Netanyahu's war on Gaza endangering Israel's 'longer-range future'

Image
Zbigniew Brzezinski
US foreign policy guru Zbigniew Brzezinski says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is isolating Israel and "endangering its longer-range future" by attacking the Gaza Strip.

President Barack Obama's foreign policy brain and former American national security advisor made the remarks in a recent interview with Fareed Zakaria on CNN.

Netanyahu has said that Israel's blitz on Gaza is a strategy to demilitarize the coastal territory, which has been under a heightened Israeli blockade since June 2007.

Brzezinski told the US broadcaster that Netanyahu's strategy will not succeed.

Paul Craig Roberts - The Cultivation of hate: The lies grow more audacious

Image
If there were any doubts that Western "leaders" live in a fantasy make-believe world constructed out of their own lies, the G-7 meeting and 70th anniversary celebration of the Normandy landing dispelled the doubts.

The howlers issuing from these occasions are enough to split your sides. Obama and his lap dog Cameron described the Normandy landing on June 6, 1944, as "the greatest liberation force that the world has ever known" and took all the credit for the US and Britain for the defeat of Hitler. No mention was made of the Soviet Union and the Red Army, which for three years prior to the Normandy landing had been fighting and defeating the Wehrmacht.

The Germans lost World War II at the Battle of Stalingrad, which was fought from August 23, 1942 until February 2, 1943, when most of the remnants of the powerful German Sixth Army surrendered, including 22 generals.

Nineteen months previously the largest invasion force ever assembled on planet earth invaded Russia across a one thousand mile front. Three million crack German troops; 7,500 artillery units, 19 panzer divisions with 3,000 tanks, and 2,500 aircraft rolled across Russia for 14 months.

Thatcher's former bodyguard reveals most of her 'conservative' ministers were regularly going to pedo-parties

Margaret Thatcher and her ministers were warned of child abuse claims against senior Tory figures in the 1980s, it was claimed today.

A former bodyguard to the Iron Lady revealed he told her to her face about rumours about one of her closest aides holding parties with underage boys.

And it was claimed a dossier on Establishment abuse handed to then-Home Secretary Leon Brittan named senior ministers Sir Keith Joseph and Sir Rhodes Boyson.

Westminster has been rocked by claims of senior politicians involved in sex abuse, and allegations of a cover-up.

Home Secretary Theresa May ordered a wide-ranging inquiry into how successive governments, charities, political parties, the NHS, the BBC and the Church failed to protect children from paedophiles.

But its chairman Baroness Butler-Sloss was forced to quit over criticism that her brother, Sir Michael Havers, had been attorney general in the Cabinet in the 1980s, and was accused of a 'cover-up' over a refusal to prosecute Foreign Office diplomat Sir Peter Hayman, who was a member of the Paedophile Information Exchange.

Two weeks on, there is still no sign of a new chairman being appointed, but the tide of allegations about child abuse at the highest levels of the Establishment continue to emerge.
