The Kiev regime's foreign minister states outright it is not going to comply with the peace agreement coup president Poroshenko signed in Minsk

In a not so shocking admission, Pavlo Klimkin, the foreign minister appointed by the regime in Kiev, admitted that his government has no intention of abiding by the Minsk peace agreements designed to end the civil war between pro-western regime forces and and separatists in Ukraine's devastated Donbass region.

Speaking about the Minsk Agreement, Klimkin told Tim Sebastian of Deutsche Welle that "we are not going to move forward on that."

First off, let me say that it's a pathetic day when I am reporting on this, but hey, it's the reality we live in. Our government and mainstream media are a bunch of little kids. This further proves it.

The media has not stopped buzzing about the fact that ten years ago, Trump made some piggish locker room comments that included the word "p*ssy".

While that speaks for itself on Trump (it's hard to believe people are really that surprised, it's Donald Trump we're talking about here after all), the entire event shows you how the media spins information to paint candidates in a positive or negative light for the American public based on establishment goals.

I don't think anyone expected that any major political candidate really lived up to their rhetoric and falsely-portrayed images, but at the height of the 2016 election, it seems that these people are being stripped bare for who they really are - a deplorable collection of narcissists, sexual predators and grown-up high schoolers.

Certainly, they aren't anything like the mainstream media has portrayed them to be, or anything like 'presidential.' Affairs and scandals are standard fare, but things are now going off the rails. Just during the past week or two, audio was leaked of Donald Trump making 'locker room' comments, while video shows Bill Clinton - then president - groping a stewardess. Now, video shows that while the 2008 campaign media were busy portraying Obama as a 'savior' and nearly-anointed leader, he was busy showing off his package to the press. What's next?

Yet another document from the treasure trove Wikileaks has been releasing of Hillary Clinton campaign chair John Podesta's emails has caused an uproar by appearing to lament the fact the American populace has grown 'non-compliant.'

In this particular exchange, Bill Ivey — Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts under President Bill Clinton — wrote to Podesta in apprehension Hillary Clinton "is not an entertainer" and thus won't be able to compete with bombastic reality star Donald Trump.

Ivey queries Podesta how they could "offset" this unexpected flaw in Clinton not being a "celebrity in the Trump, Kardashian mold."

But what Ivey states next in this lamentation characteristic of 2016's surreality has become the subject of hushed debate — because if his words are to be taken literally, they portend a possible methodological collusion to keep Americans docile and submissive — perhaps in the vein of panem et circenses.

Comment: Thinking dangerously in the age of normalized ignorance
Thinking undangerously is the first step in the triumph of formalism over substance, theater over politics, and the transformation of politics into a form of celebrity culture. The refusal to think works in the service of a form of voicelessness, which is another marker of what it means to be powerless. Within this moral and political vacuum, the codes, rhetoric, and language of white supremacy is on the rise wrapped in the spectacle of fear-mongering and implied threats of state repression. In this instance, emotion become more important than reason, ideas lose their grip on reality, and fashion becomes a rationale for discarding historical memory, informed arguments, and critical thought.

Americans occupy a historical moment in which it is crucial to think dangerously, particularly since such thinking has the power to shift the questions, provide the tools for offering historical and relational contexts, and "push at the frontiers...of the human imagination.

Thoughtfulness, the ability to think reflectively and critically is fundamental to radical change and a necessity in a functioning democracy.

Philippines to open "mega" rehab center with Chinese financier

The Philippines on Wednesday announced plans to open in November what it called a "mega" drug rehabilitation facility, funded by a Chinese tycoon, to treat up to 10,000 patients in President Rodrigo Duterte's war on drugs.

The news comes six days ahead of a visit to Beijing by Duterte, accompanied by hundreds of businessmen, as he seeks to forge closer ties with the Asian giant and daily airs his dissatisfaction with traditional ally the United States.

Several thousand people, mostly small-time drug users and dealers, have died at the hands of police and suspected vigilantes since Duterte took office on June 30, promising to eradicate the drug menace.

"This initiative will not only benefit these drug victims whom we want to help and reach out to, but also for the change that we envision for our country," Health Secretary Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial told a news conference.

Comment: Duterte's not wrong in his assessment of his critics. It is the nature of the West to impose its way of being (or lack thereof) onto others. The Philippines has every right to rid itself of the drug trade that has plagued the country. China is a natural partner in both physical proximity and in dealing with drug trafficking from the same covert sources. To date, only China has stepped up to the plate to help the Philippines with this issue.

Speaking in August at the National Banana Congress in Davao City Duetrete said, "Four million drug addicts is no joke. We are not a rich country. It is only China who has helped us. I requested the military to open their camps to allow people who'd want to donate rehab facilities."

It should be obvious why the West is a particularly unsuitable 'partner' in such an initiative.

The Pentagon called war between Russia and the USA a hypothetic scenario, according to its spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Michelle Baldanza speaking to Izvestia. But American and Russian experts queried by Izvestia are certain that despite the generals' prognosis, real armed conflict between the two nuclear powers is possible.

American political expert and senior fellow at New York University and former Senior Advisor to the US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Barnett Rubin, told Izvestia that generals do not push for war between Russia and the USA, but they plan for the unexpected.
"The main thing they said is that if there was a new world war, it would be devastating beyond imagination. That's why the only solution is that Russia and the USA cooperate to solve problems" — Rubin said.
Discussions of war between the USA and Russia began after American generals spoke at a Pentagon meeting on October 4, saying that war would be "quick and lethal". Army Chief of Staff General Mark Milley said that armed conflict between Washington and Moscow was "almost guaranteed".

Moreover, Major General William Hicks said war would begin "in the very near future", and the Pentagon has begun to prepare for combat on a scale that the US has not seen since the Korean War. Deputy Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Joseph Anderson, pointed out that "modern nation states behaving aggressively in the context of military rivalry" are a real threat to US security. "What does this remind us of? Russia", - Anderson replied to his own question.

Russian military in turn, do not give credence to the statements by American generals. For example, according to Colonel General President of the Academy of Geopolitical Issues, Leonid Ivashov, the Pentagon is bluffing, trying to intimidate Russia.
"The US understands that in the event of war, it would not escape strikes on its territory. The Pentagon says one thing, the State Department - another. One thing is clear: this statement was made to intimidate Russia and stall action in Syria," he said to Izvestia.

Multiple hecklers shouting "Bill Clinton is a rapist" interrupted President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton at separate rallies after a pro-Donald Trump radio host offered a cash reward to anyone carrying out such a stunt.

Three separate protesters disrupted Hillary Clinton's election campaign rally with Al Gore in Miami, while three others — including two wearing "Bill Clinton rapist" T-shirts — cut into Obama as he addressed a crowd in North Carolina.

The Clinton campaign linked the incidents to Alex Jones, the conspiracy theorist and right-wing radio host who founded the Infowars website.

Jones, who has prayed for Donald Trump on his show, on Friday offered $1,000 to supporters pictured on television for at least five seconds wearing a "Bill Clinton rape" T-shirt and $5,000 to anyone who can be heard shouting "Bill Clinton is a rapist" while wearing such a garment.

Jones, who believes the Sandy Hook shootings were a hoax, also says Obama and Hillary Clinton are demons who smell like sulfur.

Bill Clinton "rape" protesters were pushed and shoved during two Florida rallies on Tuesday.

Clinton was speaking in Fort Myers, Florida Tuesday afternoon when a man wearing a "Hillary for Prison" t-shirt began shouting "rapist" as Clinton was talking.

As Clinton stopped talking, the camera panned to show the protester being shoved by a Hillary supporter. He could be seen struggling to maintain his footing.
On Monday, a man wearing a Bill Clinton "RAPE" t-shirt was positioned behind Hillary during a rally in Detroit, Michigan. Video showed him tumbling down the stairs as campaign personnel attempted to force him out of the venue. (starts at 0:17)

Presidents don't give up power.

Executive orders don't expire at the end of each presidential term.

And every successive occupant of the Oval Office since George Washington, who issued the first executive order, has expanded the reach and power of the presidency.

The Constitution invests the President with very specific, limited powers: to serve as Commander in Chief of the military, grant pardons, make treaties (with the approval of Congress), appoint ambassadors and federal judges (again with Congress' blessing), and veto legislation.

In recent years, however, American presidents have anointed themselves with the power to wage war, unilaterally kill Americans, torture prisoners, strip citizens of their rights, arrest and detain citizens indefinitely, carry out warrantless spying on Americans, and erect their own secretive, shadow government.

These are the powers that will be inherited by the next heir to the throne, and it won't make a difference whether it's a President Trump or a President Clinton occupying the Oval Office.

The powers amassed by each successive president through the negligence of Congress and the courts—powers which add up to a toolbox of terror for an imperial ruler—empower whomever occupies the Oval Office to act as a dictator, above the law and beyond any real accountability.

Consider some of the presidential powers—which have been acquired through the use of executive orders, decrees, memorandums, proclamations, national security directives and legislative signing statements and can be activated by any sitting president—that have allowed past presidents to operate above the law and beyond the reach of the Constitution.

Belgian authorities claim ISIS now calling on young recruits to blow themselves up at home

Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) has adopted a new tactic - instead of calling upon its followers to join it in Syria, they are urging young recruits to stay where they are to blow themselves up there, Belgian authorities said, as cited by the media.

"Young people are no longer called upon [by Islamic State] to fight in Syria, but [are called] to carry out attacks in their country," Belgian federal prosecutor spokesman Eric Van der Sypt said on Wednesday, as cited by the Flemish-language outlet Het Nieuwsblad.

According to Van der Sypt, "this is a new trend, a new tactic" by Islamic State which is a "serious concern."

Minors are "easily influenced" and thus more easily radicalized by terrorists, he said. "It is not easy to control them. And if they are still caught, it is difficult to penalize minors."

October 8, the Russian Federation voted against the UN Security Council draft resolution on Syria, proposed by France.

The text of the document, which was obviously drawn up with Washington's encouragement directly after the United States refused to observe the Russian-US agreements on the Syrian settlement, flagrantly misrepresented the actual state of affairs and had a politically-charged and unbalanced character. The French-proposed document indiscriminately laid the blame for the escalation of tensions in the Syrian Arab Republic solely on the country's authorities and plainly attempted, through a ban on military flights over the city of Aleppo, to afford protection to Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and the militants that have merged with it, despite the UN member states' obligation to fight the terrorist threat with all available means. The draft resolution completely obscured the fact that the humanitarian crisis in Aleppo was provoked deliberately, when in August and September the militants refused to provide access to humanitarian convoys, threatening to open fire on them. At the same time, the document ignored the need to promptly initiate an intra-Syrian political process, which is being sabotaged by the same Syrian opposition members who are supported and covered by the West in every possible way.

Syria's main opposition group asked its foreign allies Monday to give them man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS) to repel airstrikes in Aleppo.

The Saudi-backed High Negotiations Committee (HNC) group, after gathering for two days in Riyadh, has blasted what it referred to as the "scorched earth policy" of Syrian President Bashar Assad and his allies.

HNC spokesman Salem al-Meslet said that the opposition was relying on "brotherly countries and friends [...] to lift the embargo on sophisticated weapons imposed on the opposition." The opposition rebels could be supplied with advanced weapons such as the shoulder-fired anti-aircraft MANPADS, effective against slow low-flying helicopters often used by Syrian air forces to drop bombs.
