A historic Alberta church has been destroyed
in what many suspect to be the latest arson attack in a string of retaliations for the historic abuse of Canada's indigenous community by the Catholic Church.
The St. Jean Baptiste church in the town of Morinville was almost entirely destroyed by the fire, which broke out on Wednesday morning. By the time firefighters arrived at the scene, its interior had already begun to collapse, and its basement had been engulfed by flames. Hours later, only a few fragments of its walls remained standing.
"It's one of the [town's] largest buildings. It's a very old construction, so an awful lot of wood. It went very quickly and it was a very difficult fire to fight," said Iain Bushell, the general manager of Morinville's infrastructure and community services.
Morinville is a community of some 10,600 people about 30km (19 miles) north of Alberta province's capital, Edmonton. Many had viewed the church as an essential part of the town's life and legacy - its "heart and soul," in the words of Mayor Barry Turner.
Its construction was completed in 1907 and it was named in honor of Father Jean-Baptiste Morin, who led several Francophone families to the area from Quebec in 1891 and also lent his name to the town itself.
The mayor said he was "confident that our community will respond in a way that we can all be proud of." However, the city authorities decided to cancel Morinville's Canada Day celebrations on Thursday in the wake of the fire.
St. Jean Baptiste's is
at least the seventh Catholic church built on First Nation lands across Canada where fire has broken out recently. Officials described the latest blaze as "suspicious," and many see it as the next link in a chain of hate-motivated attacks.
The crimes are
suspected to be connected to the recent discovery of hundreds of unmarked graves at sites where Catholic-run residential schools operated in the last century. The system of boarding schools for First Nation children is now perceived as an oppressive and deadly government-backed attempt to eradicate the culture of native Canadians. The latest burial location, comprising 182 graves, was found via underground radar-imaging in British Columbia, with the discovery announced hours after the fire in Morinville.
"I understand the anger of it," town resident Robert Proudfoot told RT, adding that he nonetheless condemned the alleged act of hate. "This is not the way to go. And whoever did this arson should maybe think a little bit about what he did here and how he put so many people in danger."
Some 50 people were evacuated from a former convent located near the burned church that has been converted into residential apartments. The building was damaged by smoke and water as fire brigades from several neighboring towns worked in shifts to contain the blaze.
The Alberta government last week offered financial assistance to religious and cultural organizations that wanted to upgrade their security systems. A suggestion to set up patrols and initiate other protection measures also came from the province's native community. Grand Chief Arthur Noskey said the offer was not only about helping their Catholic neighbors, but also about digging to the bottom of the injustices his people had suffered.
"These are potential evidence sites," he
told the
Toronto Star newspaper. "I know everybody's hurting and the whole nation is in an uproar, but you know, for us, the truth is coming out."

To make the situation even more disgusting is that the 'church' has carried out those atrocities around the world in the name of 'Christ' which is blasphemy of the highest order and aught to get all the 'church' a front row seat for the big bon-fire down below.
Mmmm. Is that roasted pope I smell, with a side of grilled bishop? Outstanding

This is Canada's equivalent of BLM.
No government buildings are being torched, just churches.
The agenda is to turn Canada into Rhodesia. Have a look at Bill C-15
'' The church gave them an opportunity to read, write, math, and learn about God.'' - Learn about God while starving ? While freezing ? While being raped ? While being beaten for speaking their ancestors language ? ARE YOU SURE IT IS THE BEST WAY TO LEARN ABOUT GOD ?
'' Many of the children were also white.'' - You have references to back that up with ?
'' Natives often handed their children over because they agreed it was beneficial.'' - Again, references ? From what I've read the
children were mostly taken in spite of the parents opposition.
''Natives aren't even allowed to say they enjoyed the residential school or they're cancelled.'' - The native issue has been going on a long time and I sure never heard a single word of approval from the natives. Not once and I do know natives in four provinces.
You sound like the worst kind of racist prick. Destroying their ways to bring another and totally incomprehensible way was supposed to help them ? Help them in what way ? The natives did not get help, they did not need help. What they got was almost anhilination. Didn't you know it is called a genocide. Look it up in a dictionary.
You realize that the word means nothing to anyone with a brain. Screech away.
The Jesuit Catholic Church, Royalty & the State were/are still progenitors of all sorts of vile misery. Recall, it was Queen Elizabeth and her recently passed husband who took10 native children on a “picnic,” never to return. Pope Francis is a particularly vile excuse for a human. What the state/church did these children was beyond reprehensible. One need only know Christ’s words to appreciate the fate waiting for anyone who hurts God’s children; a one way trip to the bottom of the ocean with millstone necktie followed promptly by eternal flames.
I’ll say it again one more time…WE are all in this together; all races, creeds, colors, sexes and political ideologies are seen quite LITERALLY as “useless eaters” by the Malthusian Fabian Socialist “you will own nothing and be happy crew.” 1% of the planet wants it all for themselves. The eugenicists have initiated their plan under the pretense of “safe & effective.”
Wake up
and stop getting
caught up in
the minutiae.

. The reason I have an interest in this topic is that I had a great grandmother that I spent a lot of time with when I was a small child, she died when I was 10. She was 1/4 Cherokee, born in 1889, the eldest of 5 children. She and most of her siblings were born in Siloam Springs AR, which was the site of one of the Cherokee trading posts during Indian removal times. When she was about ten, the Indian agent came to their home a number of times and told her parents he wanted the older kids transported to the Indian school, I cannot remember if it was to Talequah or Muskogee. They did not want their children to leave the family to attend, and instead, her white father closed the house and packed up the family and took them on the train more than 400 miles to the town where he was born, and where his extended family lived. It was up near the KS-NB border; my gr-grandmother lived with an aunt, one of the older children was parceled out also. Her parents stayed in the home of her paternal grandparents, and had another child. They lived up there until my gr-grandmother graduated high school, then her father brought the family and his parents back down to Siloam Springs. By the time they returned, my gr-grandmother's Cherokee grandfather and her white grandmother were long since passed away.
. During the pandemic this past year, I actually read an article about some liberals who wanted to take away the children of conservatives so "they would not grow up to be awful people". Let that sink in. Human nature does not change. Families are still the best place for children, and family rights to raise their children as they see fit should be sacrosanct, but sadly is not. Look at all the parents complaining to school boards about critical race theory or the anti-historic 1619 Project being compulsory subject matter.
Now is the time these crimes will be exposed globally (not just in Canada). The public will be lead to believe that Christianity is public enemy number 1, that churches and church leadership everywhere have covered up horrific crimes. We will be blamed all the more for the ills of society in order to justify our imprisonment and extermination (no different to what the Romans did in the 1st century, or Hilter to the Jews in the 20th - its the same tried and tested methodology). The psychology is primed, the propaganda machine is ready to begin the roll-out, and I suspect I will be in prison or dead before 2030 rolls around because there is no way in hell I am going to deny my faith because of what a bunch of frauds and fakes have done in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ.

To me it's starting to look more and more like the wokies are taking over the protests and cancel culture.
It's all a diversion away from the names:
The names of the government elected officials (Ottawa) who oversaw the program throughout the years. (crickets is what I'm hearing in the press)
The names of the people actually who ran the facilities?
The names of the local politicians and bureaucrats who provided aid to these places.
The names of anyone who turned a blind eye.
That's what is missing here. Crimes were committed and the press and politicians are dragging ass, like a dog in the grass.
Now I'm seeing wokies, karens, orange man mentality starting to invade the real protest.
The First Nation People deserve better, they deserve answers, they deserve respect and they deserve the love of the nation. Not crickets and violent behaviour by wokies.
And haircut. You mean she put the mutt in the kennel?
Wearing a different colour is a weak way of showing your support; like going to confession on Sunday so that you can sin again Monday in good conscience.
Burn, baby burn. When am I going to get my turn?
But that aside, people should be asking themselves "why now?" those bodies have been there a long bloody time so why suddenly are we hearing about new bodies on a weekly basis? Why is the MSM pushing this all of a sudden?
Could be 1 of 2 reasons.
1) Distraction.
2) To foment unrest against the church.
Its absolutely awful what happened, no denying that but you have to remember how these bastards work. What gets people real angry? Anything to do with kids. Think of the children blah blah they know it's a hot topic to get people riled up and divide. They used it in the convid hoax didn't they?
This is designed to attack Christianity and the best way to turn people against the church is to expose hideous crimes perpetrated against children. It's working just dandy if you ask me. Just look at the burning buildings for proof. Or the pastor's being nicked.
What surprised me was reading some of the comments above directed towards Jane. People are allowed to voice their opinions, even if they are wrong or poorly worded without being called horrible names. We should talk and show data to improve one anothers understanding. To curse and throw slurs is a leftist tactic and I was a bit saddened to see it. I don't agree with what Jane says but I think slating her helps nobody. I also think that she is trying to say this is an agenda against Christianity but she used faulty data to back that up, which I'm sure we have all been guilty of in the past. I could be wrong but I don't think so.
With everyone arguing with each other it distracts from the why. Which is exactly what TPTB want.
Thanks for reading. Keep smiling, thinking and resisting.
That is all.
However I do believe in a higher power, a difficult step I had to surrender to almost 30 years ago now in what has been the worst time in my life. That higher power is within all of us and I just believe, no conditions.
I heard stories of religious miracle healings that can give goose bumps and I think those are real but I attribute those to the power of the collective consciousness. If enough people think -pray- along the same lines -a congregation- things out of the ordinary can happen I am convinced of that but it has to be a community thing. I think that power started vanishing as the technology radically changed the old ways of life, started separating people in different pursuits with money (?) as the new goal. That has always been there but in a short period of time the opportunities seemed available to anyone and to hell with the old style congregation so to speak.
Enough ramblings, I am no scholar but I have a natural tendency to seek the bigger picture, to look further, both ahead and behind, to see where a new piece of info fits and it's effect on the other pieces and blah blah...

My Christian name is Christian haha but that's where religion ends for me. I used to joke and say churches were obviously built dedicated to me
My parents were never religious themselves so thankfully I was bought up only to worship Liverpool football club haha. That's a religion I can quite easily enjoy!
In my eyes, religion was one of the earliest control mechanisms. People have always been subjugated and depending on the times it requires different coercion techniques. Back then it was belief in Jesus and today science is the new Jesus and we are required to believe despite any evidence.
I'm a spiritual character and firmly believe in it. I also believe in the power of knowledge. To have knowledge reduces the fear factor, which is something those parasites feed off.
And completely agree with you on the prayer thing. We are herd beings and I think the collective is what makes us stronger which is why they are always dividing us.
We have many things in common, which is why I love SOTT so bloody much. Its a place I can come and enjoy some sane conversations with the likes of yourself.
Thanks for the comment Demore 🙏
I've always felt blessed that I only and ever worshiped at what I then (and still) call The Church Of The Atlantic.

*Interesting. My spell check, which, for example, shows that 'misphrased' is misspelled, does not show that for that word, which is a uniquely Southern term. Hmm.

I use to sit on Diversity calls at work, I was on a so called global call, with UK, USA, CA, Latin AM. Calls would start out nice, but as we went around the table to the USA, it was all about Black and White. Me and a lady from the UK, she was of Indian origin, would be texting each other going WTF, it's still the deep south for our company, how is it possible? The rest of the call was all about the B&W issues in the USA.
People are people as a group. Make it about race and the group splinters .
"Woke" used to mean knowing what was going on behind the curtain. Those behind the curtain have hijacked the word and wrapped it in rainbow colours and other, demented social political actions.
We cannot take things we are told at face value, but it is a tough slog trying to critically analyze every bit of information that comes our way. That is probably why so many people buy the bullshite because it takes too much time and effort to sort through it.
