OF THE
TIMES
4/20 WAS NOT "BASED" ON THE 'American style calendar dating" for April 20. Rather I just looked up the likely true origin of the 'four-twenty' concept.R.C.
My research found an article in the L.A. Weekly newspaper which certainly has verisimilitude that also appears to concur with truth. Go to the excellent article, infra, which FIRST goes through all of the very, very many 'theories' behind the 'four-twenty' movement, including:
" OK, this one has to be true: Doesn't 420 come from a Bob Dylan song? A: This is the most charming tale of all. In "Rainy Day Woman #12 and 35," Dylan repeatedly chants, "Everybody must get stoned!" Even more convincingly, 12 multiplied by 35 equals 420! Sorry, no. Points for creativity, not reality.
before ultimately showing that the truth is (spoiler alert).......it dates to a bunch of high school kids in San Rafael, Marin County, California, smoking pot after school got out at 4:20p.
THEN, that 4:20p got converted to the 'American' date of 4/20 which is April 20th.
It was a very slight pain to find these facts out but I just did. The pain comes from the stupidity of the MSM oh so typically not doing its job. (Now, if only the media will do so.)
I won't hold my breath.
Human beings exhale almost three billion tons of carbon annually, so we better exterminate the human race also...lets start with the climate whiners...
