Is there a conspiracy to murder Ufologists?

โ€‹

โ€‹Remember how MUFON's John Ventre got caught up in a racism scandal after he made disparaging comments about the "F-ing Blacks" on Facebook back in May and alleged that "everything" in the world was created by white Europeans and Americans? The UFO community reacted in horror for about a week, and now the racist ufologist is back representing ufology in the media and hawking a new conspiracy theory. Ventre is the host of the String Theory of the Unexplained radio show on the Live Paranormal radio network, and an undated video of him describing a conspiracy to murder ufologists is making the rounds after Britain's Metro tabloid mined it for a quick clickbait article. It appears to have been filmed sometime before his racism scandal, given that he uses his MUFON title, and he has since been removed from that position; however, Metro said that the video was released this week. The YouTube posting date does not necessarily correlate to the date when the video was shot, or when the radio show aired.

When you really love your job: Christopher Monig, afterlife apothecary

Mardie gras
Vintage Mardi Gras costumes
"I would make bold to opine, that here the most fretful and malicious ghost, that ever begrudged the living their enjoyments, and had the most lively inclinations to mar them, what, between the murmur of the waters, and the music of the trees, would be so fascinated as never to dream of wandering beyond the narrow girth of its grave, or of revisiting its former haunts, and mingling again in the affairs of men, to prosecute its wonted avocations, like the restless apothecary, Christopher Monig, or those two pestilent knaves, the Cobbler of Breslaw, and the Alderman of Pentsch in Silesia" - William Motherwell

Well, yes he's a corpse, but he has a good job...

Imagine you're dead. Not just dead inside. Truly pushing up daisies. An ex-parrot. There is an upside. You don't have to go to work anymore. Or perhaps the career options are just somewhat limited. You can strum a harp in heaven, roast in the Lake of Fire, or idle away the millennia in the oblivion of Limbo wondering if some other religion had the inside track. No doubt these are dissatisfactory pursuits for those who felt they had a noble, albeit mortal calling. Sure you get to rub elbows with the long dead luminaries of your field, but that gets old quickly when you point out their shocking revelations can be found in middle school textbooks and it's a bit disingenuous to discuss philosophy with deceased intellectual giants when you have hundreds of years of commentaries about them to draw from. Aristotle and Plato are probably right now itching to wring some punk, recently dead graduate student's neck. It's no wonder that historically there exists a class of phantasm that I like to think of as "the working undead". Take the 17th Century Prussian apothecary's apprentice Christopher Monig.

Alien implant documentary 'Patient Seventeen' convinces filmmaker topic not so crazy

A paranormal documentary filmmaker who explores people's extraordinary beliefs, has tackled the often ridiculed topic of alien abduction, and the related phenomenon of alien implants. However, this documentary features an actual doctor, a credible alleged abductee and some science. All of which has convinced filmmaker Jeremy Corbell that alien implants deserve a serious examination.

Of all of the fringe ideas in the UFO field, the idea that people are being snatched up by aliens and then returned without their knowledge is pretty hard for many to swallow. Added on top of that the claims some of these people have had implants placed inside of them by the aliens, well, for many, that is bat-poop crazy.

When first asked to document a surgery to remove an alleged alien implant, Cobell responded it was "way outside of my scope of knowledge or interest."

"It seemed too wild for me to put my mind around," explained Corbell.

Ghosts photographed at the Stanley Hotel that inspired horror novel 'The Shining'

Stanley Hotel
There are few adaptations of Stephen King's horror novels better than The Shining. It's a well-known fact that King was inspired to write it while staying at the stately Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. As a result, the hotel has become a center for paranormal investigations and ghost sightings. The latest occurred last month when a family that had taken a spirit tour while visiting the Stanley noticed what appears to be two apparitions in one photograph.

John Mausling, his wife Jessica Martinez-Mausling and their children visited the Stanley Hotel, a popular tourist spot near the Rocky Mountain National Park, in September. None remember seeing anything unusual on their spirit tour, a popular guided trip through the hotel highlighting its haunted history, but it wasn't hard to spot something strange in one of the photographs of their guide on a staircase. Taken from above, the shot shows what appears to be a ghostly apparition of a girl near the guide and a second glowing apparition next to her.

The Mauslings told media:
"We were just instructed to take a bunch of photos so that's basically all I did. I was kind of lagging behind the group and putting myself in different positions," Mausling told InsideEdition.com. "I was standing on top of the stairs when I took the picture. I just took a picture of a wall a couple times and under the staircase. We looked at the photos later and sure enough, we caught something. "

That "something" was what appeared to be a little girl in a white robe walking up the stairs of the hotel, but no one from the tour remembers seeing a child.

"At first I thought maybe a little girl ran by," said Jessica Mausling. "I was in shock. How could all of us miss her, especially a little girl in a white gown?"

Jessica said she contacted the hotel and the tour guide said she did not recall seeing the little girl either.

"By no means did anyone see a little girl in what looks like her pajamas and her slippers walking up the stairs right in front of us," Jay Mausling said. "Even if you look at the picture, you notice [that] no one is looking there. You just don't excuse something like that. My initial reaction was, 'No way!'"

Mausling said he's shown the picture to friends and co-workers and some have suggested he changed the photo in some way.

"People are like, 'You photoshopped this' and I am like, 'I don't even know how to use my cell phone,'" Mausling said. "I couldn't believe it and everyone I show finds it hard to believe."
It's not the first time a spooky image has been taken in the hotel:

Mysterious deaths, vanishings, and spooky surveillance footage

Camera
We are approaching an era in which security cameras are becoming more and more numerous and pervading our lives, in which often much of what we do is captured on video to some extent, even without our knowledge. In some places, such as the United Kingdom, such surveillance cameras are omnipresent and inescapable, and practically every move anyone makes is recorded constantly, with no real escape from the ever watching eye of this network.

With this dwindling privacy and the sheer number of cameras quietly and dutifully watching practically our every move, it is perhaps no surprise that they sometimes provide curious insights and clues into mysterious deaths and disappearances, capturing victims of crimes, perpetrators, and those who have vanished into thin air. However, the existence of this potential evidence does not always lead to solving these mysteries, and in many cases can even weave more puzzles around these cases. I have covered this topic here at Mysterious Universe before, but there are many such cases, and the rabbit hole goes deep. Here are some more.

Proof of ghosts among us? 1860's spirit photography

In the 1860s, "spirit photography" suddenly became very popular. Practitioners would use a special technique to create the appearance of spectral figures in people's homes and family photos...and people couldn't get enough of them!

One photographer, William Hope, took things up a notch by actually claiming to be a medium, and that his photos were "proof" of ghosts living among us. Sure, that sounds completely bogus now, but when you see them, you won't be so sure!

Former manager of DOD aerospace threat program: "UFOs are real"

tts academy ufo
© STEPHEN JUSTICEA TTS Academy concept for a vehicle drawn by Stephen Justice, embodying the technology they seek to understand and develop - a visionary concept for a revolutionary electromagnetic vehicle based on technology observed in unidentified aerial phenomena
Something extraordinary was revealed today. Former high-level officials and scientists with deep black experience who have always remained in the shadows came forward on one platform. These insiders have long-standing connections to government agencies which may have programs investigating unidentifed aerial phenomena (UAP/UFOs). The team includes a 25-year veteran of the CIA's Directorate of Operations, a Lockheed Martin Program Director for Advanced Systems at "Skunk Works", and a former deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence.

Today marked the official launch of To The Stars Academy of Arts & Science (TTS/AAS) an innovative Public Benefit Corporation which will advance research into unexplained phenomena and develop related technology. It has established three synergistic divisions: Science, Areospace, and Entertainment. "We believe there are discoveries within our reach that will revolutionize the human experience," says company President and CEO Tom DeLonge. Please see my previous story,- released yesterday - for background on today's announcement which was live-streamed and is archived on the company website.

According to a TTS /AAS statement, it's team members who have been "operating under the shadows of top-secrecy for decades" believe that "there is sufficient credible evidence of UAP that proves exotic technologies exist that could revolutionize the human experience."

Rocker Tom DeLonge has finally released information about a big UFO project he has been teasing for months, and is planning a live event tomorrow morning to provide more information.

In February 2016, rocker Tom DeLonge made headlines when he announced at the International UFO Congress that he had big UFO news to reveal and it would be coming in a few weeks time. His address to the conference was recorded and in response to being awarded the UFO Researcher of the Year. However, the news never came. Some gave up on anything being revealed. I had faith, but I also had messages from DeLonge letting me know he had been delayed, but that the information was still on the way.

Finally, the wait is over, and we now know his new project will be tiled To the Stars Academy, and its mission is to "strive to be a powerful vehicle for change by creating a consortium among science, aerospace and entertainment that will work collectively to allow gifted researchers the freedom to explore exotic science and technologies with the infrastructure and resources to rapidly transition them to products that can change the world"

UFO expert claims Prince Philip's uncle Lord Mountbatten was UFO enthusiast who documented alien encounter on his estate

Prince Philip's uncle Lord Mountbatten was a UFO enthusiast and even wrote an official report about an alien in a silver spaceship landing on his estate, historical documents show.

Mountbatten was a "hugely important and influential ufologist" even though he kept his interest in the paranormal a secret throughout his life, according to UFO expert Alejandro Rojas.

Back in February, 1955, Mountbatten, who was often referred to as Prince Charles's "honorary godfather" and mentor because of his close relationship with the Duke of Edinburgh, made an official report about a strange encounter his bricklayer Fred Briggs allegedly had with a flying saucer and an alien creature.

The report, which was uncovered after Mountbatten's 1979 death at the hands of the IRA, describes how a silver spaceship landed in the grounds of his Broadlands estate in Romsey, Hampshire.

"Gigantic bird" seen in Puerto Rico, and the "bedroom visitor" that followed

giant bird
"Gigantic bird" photo taken in Puerto Rico (from different sighting)
It can't be said that all of us Smiths live humdrum lives. Take, for instance, D.G. Smith of Leicester, England. In 1992 he wrote to the editor of Flying Saucer Review, and when his letter was published on page 25 of volume 37, no. 3, the editor commented that, in 45 years of ufology he had developed a feeling for the "UFO nut cases", and his intuition was that this one was genuine. In any case, as with most of the articles on this blog, there is no evidence that it is false apart from the obvious fact that it is fantastic. I shall therefore let you decide for yourself. The italics are in the original. It would have been useful if the author had been more specific about the location of the events. I suspect his/her native land of the USA.

Comment: And this story of last year, also from Puerto Rico:
A man claims that he saw two birds "the size of airplanes".

Manuel Ponce, a 48-year-old HVAC technician from Virginia, told Cryptozoology News on Wednesday that he was on a cruise with his family and church members when he saw the flying creatures.

"It happened right after 9/11," Ponce said. "We had just booked a cruise with Royale Caribbean in January of that year. We had 28 members of our congregation," he added.

The man claims that after a strong tropical storm, the captain managed to land in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

"We arrived there in the morning. The day was on and off, rainy with spurts of sunlight every hour or so. We hired a guide for half a day, he took us to some places of interest.

As the guide took the group near a beach, Ponce explains, they noticed a "a real dark rolling rain cloud coming quickly".

"That's when I saw them. At the very top of the storm cloud... I saw two giant birds. I pointed up to everyone in the group, including now my ex-wife and the guide, but the birds went straight up."

The man described the creatures as birds "the size of airplanes" with a 30 foot wingspan. Their necks were surrounded by a "white ring" and they had straight beaks.

"Their wings were straight, with feather protruding at the ends of their wings," he recalls.

The alleged sighting reportedly lasted about five seconds and Ponce said he was the only one to see the flying animals. He added that he tried to snap pictures but that he had not enough time to capture the image.

And Ponce, who says he has told the story to his congregation, friends and family, says most of them don't believe him.

"Only my two sons believe me. I know what the hell I saw," he said.

Thunderbird, also known as Roc, is the nomenclature used by Native Americans to refer to bird-like creatures with reptile features that are believed to be related to the extinct pterosaurs.

In August 2015, a man in Michigan claimed to have seen a "giant bird" with a 10-foot wingspan.

In July 2015, two people in Nevada reported seeing a creature that reminded them of a pterosaur, a flying reptile believed to have gone extinct about 65 million years ago.

Two weeks later, a minister and her daughter claimed to have seen an unidentified flying creature that looked like it was "straight out of Jurassic Park".

In October 2015, a California man snapped a photograph of what he believed to be a "prehistoric bird".

In 1890, Arizona newspaper The Tombstone Epitaph wrote about two ranchers killing a "winged monster" similar to an "alligator" in the desert between the Whetsone and Huachuca mountains.
