She's back! Killary Clinton mulls talk show to grease the wheels for another attempt at the presidency

Former Secretary of State and failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton plans to start her own TV show in order to "lead" the anti-Trump resistance. A Clinton insider said "she's convinced she'd get fabulous ratings."

Though she has largely faded from public prominence after her "crushing" defeat last November, Hillary Clinton is determined "not to fade into the background," according to Clinton insiders. Apparently unable to register the fact that she was arguably the most unpopular and unelectable presidential candidate of all time, Clinton is already plotting her come-back for a run in the 2020 presidential election. According to Clinton insiders who spoke to best-selling author Ed Klein, Clinton has "been talking very seriously about the idea of having her own television show."

In discussing what such a show would entail, Clinton has suggested that she would host the program, where she would "discuss the issues of the day from a progressive point of view, have top guests, interview world leaders and progressive thinkers." Klein's source further asserted that Clinton is "convinced she'd get fabulous ratings in a political climate where there's so much anger in Democratic circles over Donald Trump's election."

John Podesta becomes a Washington Post fake news columnist

John Podesta
It's almost like The Washington Post is trying to become as in-your-face corrupt and biased as possible and is determined to lose any shred of credibility it may have left.

Last Thursday, the paper announced that John Podesta, the scandal-plagued chairman of Hillary Clinton's 2016 scandal-plagued presidential campaign, has joined their team:
Podesta, former chairman of the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign, will provide commentary and analysis on the intersection of politics and policy, the Trump administration and the future of the Democratic Party.

"No one knows more about how Washington works, how the White House operates, and how policy ideas are translated into reality than John Podesta," said Editorial Page Editor Fred Hiatt. "His long experience in Congress, inside two Democratic White Houses and on the front lines of numerous presidential campaigns, will offer readers vital insight into Washington and politics at the start of a new era."

Comment: The WaPo continuously proves that it lacks even the tiniest shred of integrity.

Fear porn or a serious depopulation agenda?: Bill Gates warns that bioterrorism could kill 30 million people

It isn't clear if Bill Gates was veiling a threat to help depopulate the planet by 30 million people, if he was simply scare-mongering, or warning of a true cataclysmic-level bioterrorism event, but at the recently held Munich Security Conference the man who has been kicked out of India said that, "a genetically engineered virus such as small pox could wipe out up to 30 million people in less than a year."

Gates is a multi-billionaire, and the founder of Microsoft, but he has also been a vocal supporter of questionable investments that have a profound impact on people's lives. At one point, Gates owned 500,000 shares of Monsanto stock, and his Foundation, with an endowment larger than all but four of the world's largest hedge funds, is known to have its tentacles in many programs meant to sterilize, and force toxic vaccinations on unsuspecting and indigent populations.

The Gates Foundation is also heavily invested in companies that contribute to obesity, and a number of other chronic health issues, including McDonald's, Pepsi-Co, Coca-Cola, Burger King, and Walmart.

The Foundation is additionally invested in Dynacorp, one of the biggest military industrial contractors on earth, whose clients include the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, the Department of Defense, Department of State, Department of Justice, Internal Revenue Service, Securities and Exchange Commission, FBI, CIA, and HUD — all government agencies notorious for rampant, unchecked and egregious fraud, along with Geo, a private prison group.

Comment: The deaths of billions of people would probably be a dream come true for the likes of Gates.

Ahmadinejad
"Dear Donald..."

Erdogan: Demands Kurdish PYD/YPG militia forces leave Manbij, Syria

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Syria's city of Manbij is not a place for Syria's Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), city belongs to Arabs.

Syria's Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) must leave the northern city of Manbij as it is going to be the next target of Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA), Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday.

"Manbij is not a place for the PYD or YPG ... it belongs to Arabs," Erdogan told reporters as quoted by Anadolu news agency.

On Monday, Turkish presidential adviser Ilnur Cevik said that Turkey plans to end its Euphrates Shield operation in Syria after capturing Manbij from Kurdish militants.

The operation by Turkey and FSA fighters began on August 24, 2016. The city of Jarabulus in northern Syria was taken before Al Bab was liberated. Erdogan said that the aim of the operation was to clear the region of terrorists and make it a safety zone for refugees.

Comment: "Clearing the region of terrorists and make it a safety zone for refugees," is Erdogan's polite excuse. His obsession is with the Kurds and their desire to have autonomous territory. Erdogan was only too happy to step over the Syrian border to help secure this region by partnering with Russia and Iran. Ankara has said that its Operation Euphrates Shield is primarily aimed at fighting Daesh, but according to Ilhan Ehmed, co-leader of the Syrian Democratic Council and a senior member of Syria's Democratic Union Party (PYD): "...there are no Daesh fighters in Manbij."

Germany joins 'fake news battle' in the Baltics via new Russian-language media

the real fake news
© Donbass News International archiveFactual errors, conflation? Yes. Mistake? Nope. This fake article was created by a fake think tank but picked up by Russian state-owned RIA Novosti and debunked, but not before it became a classic case of disinformation laundering.
Germany will help Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania to set up Russian-language media outlets to counter the alleged "systematic disinformation" coming from Russian channels broadcasting in the region, according to Foreign Office spokesperson Martin Schaefer.

The announcement came just before German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel's upcoming tour of Sweden and the Baltic states, which is scheduled to take place this week. "During his trip, Mr. Gabriel will also employ what we already started last year in the Baltic states, which is - as we say in new German - handling Russian 'fake news' together with appropriate partners," said Schaefer in Berlin on Monday.

The main goal of the initiative, according to Schaefer, is to create of Russian-language radio and TV channels, which will be "attractive to Russian speakers living in the three Baltic states," in order to produce news "in a different way" from Russian outlets.

Germany has eagerly joined the trend to combat the 'fake news' phenomenon - which gained traction following the scandal-plagued US presidential elections - already blaming Moscow for alleged "election meddling" in a poll which is only scheduled for September. Germany's security services have even mulled the creation of a special unit to tackle 'fake news' exclusively.

Trump's giant defense spending increase $54B

military spending
© CNN.comThe US' global slice of the pie.
US President Trump announces vast increase in defending spending, putting the US military budget on an unsustainable path. On the eve of a major speech on foreign policy, which is due tomorrow, US President Trump is calling for US defence spending to be increased by $54 billion, a huge 10% increase in the Pentagon's budget and the biggest increase since 2008.

The President is calling for this increase to be funded by cutting spending on other programmes. This is likely to be unpopular in Congress and it is far from certain that the spending increase will be approved in full. However the likelihood is that defence spending will increase significantly and that - given US political realities - the increase in defence spending will not be matched by corresponding cuts in spending for other programmes. The result is that despite probably higher economic growth in the short term, over the medium to long term both the US budget deficit and the US's overall level of debt will rise.

Comment: These comments are likely based on what has transpired in the past with politicians running the numbers and not following through on voted financial parameters. Trump comes from the business world and has a different financial modus operandi concerning the 'bottom line.' We shall see how well he holds this course and fends off those who would sabotage his efforts in order to prove themselves 'right.'

Comment: Overlooked in the analysis is the state of equipment -- old, outdated, in need of repair or replacement. Today's tech means smarter equipment and fewer units required to do the same tasks. It also means jobs for Americans, of which a percentage of the $54B will be plugged back into the economy.

Some think a strong, state-of-the art military is a sign the US wants to go to war. It also is a means to deter war from any aggressor. While neither of these may be ultimately true, both of these, as well as their opposites, are possible.

Pepe Escobar: Trump 'the bazaari' - Reporting from the Iranian Parliament's conference on Palestine

Ayatollah Khamenei
© Asia TimesSupreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei speaking at the international conference on Palestine in Tehran
The art of the deal, when practiced for 2500 years, does lead to the palace of wisdom. I had hardly set foot in Tehran when a diplomat broke the news: "Trump? We're not worried. He's a bazaari". It's a Persian language term meaning he is from the merchants class or, more literally, a worker from the bazaar and its use implies that a political accommodation will eventually be reached.

The Iranian government's response to the Trump administration boils down to a Sun Tzu variant; silence, especially after the Fall of Flynn, who had "put Iran on notice" after it carried out a ballistic missile test, and had pushed the idea of an anti-Iran military alliance comprising Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Jordan. Tehran says the missile test did not infringe the provisions of the Iran nuclear deal and that naval drills from the Strait of Hormuz to the Indian Ocean, which began on Sunday, had been planned well in advance.

I was in Tehran as one of several hundred foreign guests, including a small group of foreign journalists, guests of the Majlis (Parliament) for an annual conference on the Palestine issue.

Not surprisingly, no one from Trump's circle was among the gathering of parliamentarians from over 50 nations who attended the impressive opening ceremony in a crowded, round conference hall where the center of power in Iran was on display; Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, President Hassan Rouhani and Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani.

In his first address to Congress, President Donald Trump is expected to lay out a "bold agenda" to unite the country, reform healthcare and secure the borders. Democrats are responding by inviting immigrants, including some who are in the US illegally.

Trump will be speaking to the nation and members of Congress at the invitation of House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin), who announced last week that the address was arranged to bring the country together.

The speech is scheduled to be delivered from the US Capitol beginning at 9:00pm EST on Tuesday.

"With this unified Republican government, we have a unique opportunity to deliver results to the American people," said Ryan, adding "this will be an opportunity for the people and their representatives to hear directly from our new President about his vision and our shared agenda."

In a press briefing on Monday, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said the president will use the speech to refocus the American public on his policy priorities, and outline his vision for the country over the next four years.
