A lot of people can see that today's politicians and corporate heads are a pretty corrupt bunch. At the same time however, most people don't worry too much about that particular problem because, at the end of day, those guys still work for 'we the people', right? I mean, they're not called 'public servants' for nothing and we put them in office! ... right? If things get really bad we'll just expose them through the media or, if things get really bad, we might even start a revolution! ...right?? ... Or failing that, God will save us??!

The extent of the corruption in our world today goes far beyond what most people know or could even imagine in their darkest, most politician-phobic nightmares. And arming ourselves with the simple idea that 'power corrupts' hasn't exactly acted as a check or balance to the excesses of these 'captains of industry'. In order to even hope of standing up for and protecting our rights and lives in this increasingly draconian world, we need to understand the nature of the problem we are facing, or, to be more specific, we need to understand the nature of those corrupt leaders. We need, to some extent, to get inside their heads and know what makes them 'tick'. We need to ask ourselves, 'do their actions match their words'? If you have been paying attention, you know that the answer is 'hardly ever...if ever'. Many answers to this question can be found in Andrew Lobaczewski's scientific study on the nature of evil, Political Ponerology. His work identifies the pathological nature of our leaders and the governing bodies that they create around themselves. Although it is written in the framework of politics, Political Ponerology just as easily applies to all the structures that make up our global society.

The unfortunate result of humanity being invaded by pathological thought, is a weakness in discerning healthy conditions from pathological ones. Our tyrants follow no rules to maintain their position of control over humankind, yet they set the conditions that men and women follow 'for a better life'. Revolution, protest, elections, free speech, and religion are just a few things touted as means by which me might find our humanity. And yet we exist as we have for millennia, suffering at our own hands, at the hand of our fellow man and, at the source, at the hands of pathocrats.

We use whatever tools are known to us to fight for something better. Some write to elected officials because they believe if their leaders just had the right information then they might make informed decisions. Some pray to their god for a just world because they believe redemption will come through a higher power. Some join activist groups because they believe if they get out and do something, it will bring change. We fight for life in the best way we know until another option is seen as possible. The problem is, the systems of the past do not work, and we now find ourselves teetering on a precipice of common destruction. We continue to lose our way by putting faith in systems that have been corrupted by psychopaths long, long ago. We cannot do anything as long as we continue investing in corrupted words and playing by the pathological rule book.

Guy Fawkes saw the possibility of a better life through revolution. On November 4th 1606, he was found guarding barrels of gunpowder underneath the House of Lords in London. The intent was to destroy the Houses of Parliament and assassinate King James I during the State Opening of Parliament on November 5th. This failed operation was known as the Gunpowder Plot and was the basis for the creative story behind the film V for Vendetta. In the film, the main character, 'V' provides an inspiring message of freedom from tyrannical rule. His primary means of accomplishing this is by exposing a deplorable situation and the people responsible for it.

Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine - the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration, whereby those important events of the past, usually associated with someone's death or the end of some awful bloody struggle are celebrated with a nice holiday, I thought we could mark this November the 5th, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat.

There are of course those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, orders are being shouted into telephones, and men with guns will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease... there were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent.

Last night I sought to end that silence. Last night I destroyed the Old Bailey, to remind this country of what it has forgotten. More than 400 years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives.

So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you then I would suggest that you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament, and together we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever be forgot.
V's speech is as relevant today as it ever was, perhaps more so. If comfort hasn't overridden our sense of conscience, his words strike a deep cord within. Truthful words always will have a far greater effect than any act of violence. Perhaps we can take the Hollywood symbols of 'blowing stuff up' to be a simple reclaiming of a revolutionary spirit. But there remain distortions to the story of that historic night that Guy Fawkes attempted to defeat the English pathocrats, distortions that we must recognise. Fawkes revolution didn't fail because he got caught, he failed because he played by pathological rules. We cannot get out of the mess we're in by playing in a rigged game where we are baited into confronting the enemy on their terms. The old systems do not work. How much suffering must there be before people cry "ENOUGH!"? We say 'enough' by critically analysing our beliefs and seeing that they do not accomplish what we so desperately want. We say 'enough' by making changes in our daily lives that reflect the lessons we've learned. We say 'enough' by refusing to play our mandated part in pathological games. And truth be told, we don't have to play such games. There is another way, but we must know how to navigate through the maze. The formula used in the psychopaths trade is to take normal, human rules and twist them into a destructive ideology. By default, healthy rules for humanity must exist. We just have to find and apply them to our lives. Psychopaths can twist, distort and lead people astray all they want, but they cannot destroy the Truth.

So what can be done?

Learn about psychopathy. The psychopaths' system for humanity is set up to fail and the only way to get around it is by knowing how pathologicals operate. Read Political Ponerology, Without Conscience, The Sociopath Next Door, and The Mask of Sanity.

Clean up your machine. We fall into these traps because our minds are foggy, our emotions are drained, and our bodies are broken six ways to Sunday. Stop eating processed and toxic foods, which include gluten, dairy, soy and sugar. Check out this article for a thorough guide to detoxification.

Reduce your stress. Our bodies and minds are on overdrive because we are constantly living under a thinly veiled threat. We barely get by in trying to survive under the influence of pathological thought. This distorts our ability to properly perceive and understand the dangers that surround us. We over-react to minor issues and under-react to major problems. In other words, we experience hysteria, a tell tale sign of ponerization. Things need to be addressed in their proper perspective, but first we need to learn how to turn down the stress thermostat. Practicing stimulation of the vagus nerve turns on the body's parasympathetic nervous system, producing a state of relaxed alertness.

These are some tools for a real revolution, and everyone can start utilizing them today. Remember, remember, this 5th of November and every day hereafter. It's the changes we make in ourselves on a daily basis that bring us closer to a better future for all.
