US: UFO Traffic Report: Shiny silver sphere hovers alongside Ohio's I-77

The UFO Traffic Report for Monday, May 18, 2009, includes 11 selected sightings over eight states, according to witness statements filed in the past 72 hours with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

Today's stories include two cases of spheres - one hovering near Ohio's I-77, and three spheres moving across Michigan skies; a round object about 100 feet off of the ground in Colorado and 50 feet in diameter caught on camera; a white colored ball shooting across Washington skies; a cylinder-shaped object over New Mexico; a boomerang-shaped object captured on camera moving slowly over Colorado; two very low flying, glowing shapes crossing North Dakota; an orange glowing sphere over Florida; a slow and pulsing bronze colored light hovering in Ohio; and two Oklahoma witnesses reporting the same "strip of white light."

Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If MUFON investigates and reports back on any of these cases, I will update this page.

US: Triangle UFOs cruising low over Pennsylvania and Colorado

Two triangle UFOs were seen over Pennsylvania and Colorado this week, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness database.

A couple driving along NW County Line Road, about four miles from NW Route 611 near Warrington, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, first saw three bright lights in a triangle pattern, low, just above the tree line.

The three white lights were at the three points of the triangle, and there were two or three red lights on its underside. The body of the object, they said, was black, and it was moving slowly in the sky traveling southeast.

In Colorado, a man took a photograph of a bright light, and later - with enlargements, discovered the object was triangular shaped. The witness stated that there was a bright light on each point of the triangle.

US: Reports of multiple UFOs at single locations on the rise

Reports of multiple UFOs seen at the same location over time are on the rise, according to witness statements filed with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

Three reports made to MUFON within the past 48 hours, plus a fourth report made directly to UFO Traffic Report today, if believed, suggest that the number of UFO "hot spots" in the U.S. may be increasing. Keep in mind that this is an unscientific and casual observation, after reading MUFON reports daily for more than four months.

Other similar cases occurred recently in Salt Lake City, Utah, and in a small Iowa town. Most "hot spots" tend to describe larger regions, rather than a single town or specific location. Both Texas and Pennsylvania earned "hot spot" status recently after experiencing higher than average reports over the past year when compared with other states.

Germany: Second wintess to Paderborn UFO surfaces

Last month All News Web published an article and video [Link] about a UFO that was seen in April over the German city of Paderborn. Recently we received the following email along with a photo (above):

'My name is Jessica Wegener, and I am a 20 year old girl from Germany. I made this picture with my cell phone (Motorola Razr V3i) on 12th April 2009, 4:12am, in Paderbon. I was going home on the street Mühlenstraße. I saw pulsing white lights flying over me, very big (I guess maybe 50 or 100 or even more meters in total diameter, and maybe 500 meters high? I'm not so sure about that, but it was much bigger than a helicopter or so.). The object moved very fast and without any noise, straight from west to east. I could not see it anymore after a few seconds because of buildings covering it. The weather was cloudy, no rain. I was alone, but I was sure that other people must have seen it too because it was so big and bright. And I think the video on your site shows what I saw.'

Description: This might not sound like much but I was putting some washing out the back of the house when I looked to the north and saw a bright star. It was orange in the middle with white light on the edges. It moved at a steady pace southwards slightly curving off to the east. Because of the clear night I would of heard a plane or helicopter but it was dead silent. I watched it head more and more eastwards. It was just going over the hills when from the object a much smaller white light shot from the side of it and headed north while the brighter orange and white light object continued east until out of sight. The smaller light was faster and out of sight before the larger one passed over the hills.

I took a telephone call from a gentleman who had been to his cabin in the Cree Lake, Saskatchewan area. It was on May 10, 2009 that he came across human like footprints which measured 18 inches in length and approximately 8 inches in width. Pictures were taken and the fellow said he would get the photos to me over the next few days.

Sydney/ Australia - Instead of listening to possible alien radio signals, Australian OSETI-Astronomers looking for possible intelligent laser pulses from distant civilizations have detected an unknown signal that could not have been identified yet.

Contrary to the classical Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, (SETI) that is listening to intelligent radio signals from outer space, so called "OSETI" is searching for strong "optical" laser pulses or strong laser flashes. While SETI-researchers dismiss the idea of crop circles being a communication from aliens because - according to Seth Shostak of the SETI Institute - alien visitors with the ability to travel to Earth would surely use a more sophisticated technology to communicate, such as radio transmission, the idea of OSETI turns this argument around (even if certainly not in favour to the much debated crop circle phenomenon): "For an advanced civilization, radio wave technology would be old hat. (...) My strong feeling is that if there are (extraterrestrial intelligence) civilizations out there, they will send the signal by laser pulses or laser flashes", explained Dr. Ragbir Bhathal head of the "OZ OSETI PROJECT" at the University of Western Australia in Sydney in an interview with The Australian.

China: News service reports UFO seen by own journalist

A Chinese newspaper reported this week on a UFO sighting made by one of their own Journalists. Jing-Sen Gao of Dunhua, a city in the ethnic Korean enclave of Yanbian was walking with friends to a cultural event on 18 April at around 4pm when they saw a strange black object in the sky above them.

The object changed shape constantly. It went from being square to triangle to saucer shaped. Mr Goa then started filming the object with his mobile phone camera. At this point the object started emitting a flickering white light and then after a few minutes it vanished completely.

Weather Conditions: Fairly clear- cloud cover 5k approx

Description: We saw several clusters of bright amber lights, two parallel rows of approximately four/six objects to the formation, traveling slowly from East Stavely to West Sheffield direction. They were just below the cloud cover estimated at approx 5k ft at an estimated speed equivalent to an aircraft standard approaching speed 150/ 200 kn/mls hr! They stayed in view for about 5/10 mts, they then dispersed/disappeared into cloud.
