Girls are the fastest-growing group in the US Juvenile Justice System

Women Prisoners

Over the past 20 years, there's been a promising decline in arrests of youths in the United States. The reasons for the drop are elusive, but one factor might be a renewed interest within the juvenile justice system in paying better attention to child welfare before kids are drawn to crime. States are also seeking alternatives to traditional punishment once kids are in the system.

But a new report out this week finds that for young girls, the trend is going in the opposite direction. The proportion of girls in the juvenile justice system has increased at every stage of the process over the last 20 years, from arrests to detention and probation.

Syrian public's reaction to Russian leadership: "Putin the Great, Putin the Caesar"

"On the street all are happy, saying: 'Putin the Great', 'Putin the Caesar' A journalist from Syria, Mudar Haarbeck live on air of "Kommersant FM".
Putin
A modern Caesar?
Radio news host Anatoly Kuzichev talked about the situation in Syria with military journalist Mudaram Hairbek, who is located in Latakia, during the program "Evening" with "Kommersant FM".

Mudar Hairbek:
"All the Syrian people are happy. Finally Russia made the iron decision to take part in our war. We wanted since the first year for Russia to help us as now.

See, United States of America brazenly help the Al Nusra Front, ISIS, all these terrorists. Through the UN, without the UN anyway they help. And Turkey and these countries, the Arabian Gulf.

Why should we now, as the West says, prevent Russia from helping us in the war. On the contrary, the Syrian people wanted from the first day of the Syrian crisis that Russia would take part in the war.

On the street everyone is happy, they all say exactly the words "Great Russia, Putin the Great, Putin the Caesar". Everyone says that. All the terrorists in the world gathered with us. They kill, I can't even compare them with animals. They are worse than animals. United States of America defend terrorists in Afghanistan, and in Syria, and here, and everywhere."

Comment: An apt description. Gaius Julius Caesar was an intellect, master tactician, and a man who worked tirelessly for the good of his people.

14-year old Houston boy confesses to strangling, stabbing pregnant mother 20 times

Image
A 14-year-old boy has confessed to strangling and stabbing his pregnant mother more than 20 times in an attack at the home they shared south of Houston, investigators said Thursday.

Police in La Marque said in a statement that the 33-year-old woman was about five months pregnant when she was found dead in the home Saturday. An autopsy was performed Wednesday and shows most of her stab wounds were to the back and neck.

Investigators have not indicated a motive in the killing but said in the statement that, "The son did provide a voluntary statement in which he confessed to causing the death of his mother."

The teen initially was reported missing but was found a day later in Houston when a family member contacted police.

The boy was charged with a juvenile count of murder earlier this week and is being held at a juvenile detention facility.

The Associated Press is not naming the boy because he is a juvenile or his parents because it would identify the boy.

Investigators have determined that after the killing, the teen took a vehicle that had been loaned to his mother and drove about 200 miles west to Seguin, near San Antonio. He then traveled back to the Houston area before being taken into custody, police said. The reason for the trip to the San Antonio area was unclear.

Authorities have not said when the woman was attacked or how long she may have been dead before a neighbor discovered her body Saturday.

Smith urged witnesses to come forward.

"We want the community to understand, it could've been one of your kids out here," Smith said.

A 5-month-old girl who was shot in the chest on Thursday has died, according to police in Cleveland, Ohio. The death of Aavielle Wakefield marks the third fatal shooting incident involving children on Cleveland's east side in the last month.

Wakefield was in a car with her mother and two males when someone opened fire into the car, police said, according to ABC 5. The infant was the only person shot. On September 4, 5-year-old Ramon Burnett was killed in a drive-by shooting outside his home. On September 15, 3-year-old Major Howard was gunned down inside a car. In addition, on September 19, 10-year-old Dante Padgett Jr. was shot and wounded in a car while his father was killed.

In a call to 911, a woman told the dispatcher that "someone was shooting at our car and they shot the baby," according to ABC 5. Wakefield was brought to Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Cleveland police said they do not have a suspect or even a description of the shooter or shooters at this point.

Comment: The U.S. population is following the leaders of the country in their propensity to use violence and weapons to achieve their ends. When the authorities show little to no respect for life, the people will follow suit.

Hackers breach Experian database and steal data on 15 million T-Mobile customers

Hackers have breached the computer network of T-mobile's partner company, data collector Experian, and stolen private information on 15 million customers of the mobile operator.

The data stolen includes names, birth dates, addresses, and more sensitive information such as social security numbers and credit assessments made by T-mobile, the company said in a statement on Thursday. The encryption may have been compromised.

"Obviously I am incredibly angry about this data breach and we will institute a thorough review of our relationship with Experian, but right now my top concern and first focus is assisting any and all consumers affected," T-Mobile's CEO John Legere wrote.

"I take our customer and prospective customer privacy VERY seriously. This is no small issue for us. I do want to assure our customers that neither T-Mobile's systems nor network were part of this intrusion and this did not involve any payment card numbers or bank account information."

Comment: One wonders if the recent data breaches by "hackers" are really done by intelligence agencies, partly in order to steal identities for agents to use in the field, and also to make it known that data privacy is untenable and therefore people should give up the fight for privacy

Alabama passes Voter ID law - closes driver's license offices in democratic counties

vote restriction alabama
© Politicus USA
In 2011, Alabama passed a voter ID law that required voters to provide a government issued state ID in order to vote in elections. Critics charged that the law would make it disproportionately difficult for poor voters and African-American voters in the state to vote. Republicans brushed off those criticisms by suggesting that the voter ID law was instead designed to eliminate in-person voter fraud, despite the fact that in-person voter fraud is almost non-existent.

However, Alabama has announced that it is now closing 31 driver's license bureaus throughout the state, leaving 29 of the state's counties without an office where voters can easily obtain a state-issued driver's license. Not coincidentally, the impact of closures will be disproportionately felt by low income voters. Also unsurprisingly, offices targeted for closure are heavily concentrated in predominately African-American, Democratic leaning counties.

Driver's license bureaus will be closed in heavily African-American and strongly Democratic, rural Black Belt counties. Barack Obama's seven best counties in Alabama (Greene, Macon, Sumter, Lowndes, Bullock, Perry and Wilcox) all have African-American populations above 68 percent. In each of those counties, Barack Obama garnered at least 74 percent of the vote in 2012. All seven of those mostly black, strongly Democratic, counties will lose their driver's license bureau, making it difficult for voters to obtain a state-issued ID.

Protecting us from our privacy: The push for national ID gets stronger

real ID
After years of dormancy, Real ID is reemerging like a roaring dragon. Even when this sneaky measure was signed in 2005 under a different kind of bill - this fully standardized, "enhanced" national ID was rejected by America and even various state officials.

This past February a TSA announcement alerted everyone that the new driver's license is here again and they had better get "on board" by 2016 if they want to join public travel. A couple weeks ago, New York was targeted by the national security state to join the Borg.

Pro-Israel lobby's McCarthyism and extreme measures to slime BDS human rights activists

Canary Mission
A Canary Mission hit list

As pro-Israel extremism reaches new depths with the notorious Canary Mission project, the FBI investigates growing threats against BDS activists.

This article is part one of a four-part investigation.

The Israel lobby is redirecting resources to a new project after its failure to stop the Iran nuclear deal despite spending an estimated $30 million to halt it. Following the defeat, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered a campaign against the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement that is spreading on American college campuses. The funding is flowing from donors closely linked to Netanyahu's government. But the effort has almost instantly run into trouble. It is inspiring an atmosphere of incitement and intimidation, and the FBI is now investigating violent threats made against BDS activists.

The BDS movement has gathered momentum at a staggering pace since it was devised by Palestinian civil society groups in 2005. With its call for grassroots level boycotts to pressure Israel into respecting the human rights of Palestinians, the movement has spread across European capitals and found fertile soil on American college campuses. Groups like Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace now boast chapters at almost every major university, and student governments at most University of California campuses have passed resolutions to divest from occupation-linked corporations. The trend is sending shockwaves through pro-Israel circles, prompting a desperate multi-million dollar campaign to crush it.

Comment: Clearly, if these AIPAC goons can't attack the message, then they will attack the messenger in any despicable way they can.
