It is Russia that has been outright "robbed" by the US and its allies, Peskov said, adding that Moscow has to deal with "pirates" in the West anyway. "They have seized our assets, stolen our assets," the Kremlin spokesman told journalists, saying that "before, such people were called 'pirates'; now, they are called 'bandits'."
Earlier on Saturday, Medvedev suggested finding "proper pirates" and using them to obtain content from western entertainment companies that left Russia over its conflict with Ukraine. Medvedev, who is currently the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, also said that any such content should be put online for free to make the western entertainment giants suffer "maximum damage so that they go broke."
The companies that have ceased or paused operations in Russia over the past year include film industry giants Disney, Warner Bros., Universal, Paramount, and Sony, as well as streaming services such as Netflix, Spotify, Megogo, and Amazon Prime Video.
According to Medvedev, the Russian authorities recently discussed the possibility of depriving foreign content providers of some of their non-property rights in the country.
Russia's Industry and Trade Ministry earlier ruled out adding entertainment content to its parallel import list, arguing that audio and visual content cannot be properly classified as "goods" for such purposes. In February, the Russian Culture Ministry said it was preparing a bill that would ban showing pirated movies without screening licenses in cinemas.
Comment: A national pastime - digital piracy - may just get the stamp of approval from the Kremlin.

I see it as an official rebuke of Western imposed digital copyright and patent protection law. Joining the Chinese.
On the other hand, maybe they are better off not having it in the first place although I can't deny I appreciate that "Port Protection" show on Nat Geo as owned by Disney that displays a community in Alaska mostly separated from other places and reliant upon neighbors helping each other out.
Still, at the end of the day, I suspect it will be no big loss to not have access to these entertainment channels and truly - who has time to sit around hour after hour watching the actions of others on the boob-tube?
So begs the question what is all the fuss about and frankly once these shows are digitized do they not think others will take them and share them? I don't think artistry can be regulated and why should Russia follow rules made by others when others are trying the sanction the living daylights out of all things Russian? Fair is fair and truly if Russian artistry is lost to the rest of us, that is a price I'm not willing to pay. I love Prokofiev and other great Russian musicians.....Russian geniuses are in all the artforms and to suggest otherwise just shows how little your realize the genius of Russia and how connected we all really are.
I could give a crap if Disney, Warner Bros., Universal and the rest of them go into the dustbin of history - they don't deserve any support if they deny the genius of Russian artist. So, that is that.
