may need to wait for everything to come to light.agreed, although if there was any evidence to bring to light that would exonerate the officers of wrongdoing, i am certain it would've been released by now...
Thing is again we're dealing in partial perspectives as the cop who pulls up with the cam on isn't the first one there.yes i do realize that, it just seems as if there were more to the story that were beneficial to the responding officers it would have been offered up by now.
Maxx Paine The cops are not authorized to mete-out punishment no matter how pissed they might be because their orders are disobeyed. Period. What? That "the state has the monopoly on violence" may not be de facto , but it is de jure . It's somewhat explicit that law enforcement is authorized to mete-out punishment as they see fit to perform their duties. If not entirely explicit by law it's demonstrated by the fact they're most often given the benefit of the doubt and exonerated by juries who are biased in their favor, and I think they know it. So hopefully being held to account here and in the future could chill that. I don't know about the blanket 2nd-degree charge for all 5, but whoever it was that kicked him while he was down, and was throwing haymaker punches at him while he's stood up, half-conscious, with his arms held back, should go down for big time.
sbc [...]to correct some cultural appropriation, "Captain" (Sgt.) Zouave was not a hippie. He was a member of Napoleon III's army and a characteristic forerunner of the modern use of the term "fasist" due to his combination of militarism and very, very, snazzy dressing habit.
I'm surprised someone with a user name of "azigzagidiot" and the zigzag man as an avatar would be so endorsing of police brutality.
azigzagidiot It looks like he stopped in the middle of the street, and wouldn't show his hands... hence the force in removing him from his vehiclestepping closer to someone not showing their hands who may be concealing a firearm and ripping them out of the vehicle is NOT what police are supposed to do.
[...]Sure, exchange of opinions.
Probably one of the most horrid abuses (if not the most) of Police Power I have ever seen. Rodney Kingโs beating looked PG-13 to this one. Very troubling & the Memphis Police Chief did what she should have imo.
Saw the 4 videos last night just after 6 PST. This story (says Sherrif but the LEA/LEOโS were Memphis Police not Sherrifโs) Link below has more information & facts with names & says 5 were fired, arrested & charged with 2nd degree murder. To note, this article here is on an announcement from the Sheriff that two deputies, in addition to the 5 already fired and charged, are now under investigation as well.
Tyre Nichols videos show what happened in fatal Memphis traffic stop beating [Link] Videos 1 & 2 are the worst imo.
โMemphis Police Chief CJ Davis said Friday morning that she wasnโt prepared for what she saw.โIn my 36 years in law enforcement, I donโt think I have witnessed the disregard for a human being displayed in this video,โ Davis said.
โFive now-former Memphis Police officers โ Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr., and Justin Smith โ were fired for misconduct, indicted by a grand jury Thursday and taken into custody.โ
