An autopsy confirmed the cause of death as a dog attack. Investigators say the evidence indicates the man was inside where the dogs were located at some point but died outside the home.
Investigators say the homeowner doesn't know the man or why he would be in his home.
The man has been identified as Alex Binyam Abraha, 21, of Atlanta. Deputies say he had active warrants for his arrest in Fulton County.
No charges are expected against the home owner. Authorities had seized the dogs as part of the investigation. It has not yet been determined what happens next for them.

They would have been backed up.

I’m reminded of a fire inspector nixing my double key deadbolt we installed on our warehouse/office space after we were robbed. Because wouldn’t I feel bad if someone got trapped inside after we locked up for the day. And the place caught fire and they couldn’t get out? I replied not really, they shouldn’t be there. Karma’s a bitch and all.
Even in protecting ourselves we’re punished. The law requires a victim.
It sure looks that way at times.
True, I think this event was the only time I ever thought pitbulls did the right thing.
Um, wait. These dogs WERE safely secured - they didn't even chase the SOB after he left the place. THAT shows discretion!

I have to agree. The pit bulls are smarter than most who own them.

And I did qualify that they should only be euthanized if they can't be rehabilitated (if they need rehabilitation at all).
Back off, dude, I'm from Florida -got it? (Norm McDonald on Dahmer's last words to his killer prisoner: "Don't mess with me, guy, I've eaten guys like you for breakfast. ) One of my friends got his arm ripped out at the elbow by a gator death spin. Two others have been bitten badly by sharks. Another by a moray!
Meanwhile, I too have been repeatedly bitten - by skeeters.

(Whoa! [Link] They look scary! ) Is that worse than getting face to face with a paranoid bush baby having an existential crisis? [Link]

I don't know what happened to all the degus they had. There were about 20 when I got my pair. But they kept snakes, lizards, and various other pets they "rescued" for a long time, so...
I do hope they didn't let them go since degus are already an invasive species in southern parts of the US and Mexico.
