A deposition detailing the seamy relationship between Ghislaine Maxwell and the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was released Thursday just before a court-imposed deadline, after months of wrangling by her defense lawyers to keep the sordid documents from the public eye.

The newly unsealed transcript is from Maxwell's seven-hour civil suit deposition in April 2016 and includes hundreds of denials from the British socialite, who said she knew nothing of Epstein's alleged abuse of underage girls.

It also includes pointed questions from Giuffre's lawyer about her sex life, as well as her ties to former President Bill Clinton, who was pals with Epstein.

Maxwell, who has a pilot's license, admitted that she's flown on Epstein's planes with Clinton before — but refused to characterize the ex-commander-in-chief's relationship with the convicted pedophile as "friends."

Many other names in the document are redacted.

At one point, Maxwell also denies keeping a "laundry basket of sex toys" at Epstein's mansion in Palm Beach, Florida.

The deposition was part of a now-settled civil defamation lawsuit filed by Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre.

Comment: Giuffre has been stalwart in pursuing justice for herself and other victims of Epstein and Maxwell:

US District Judge Loretta Preska in July ordered the release of the 465-page transcript from the deposition, but Maxwell's lawyers appealed the decision to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals.

The higher court upheld Preska's ruling on Monday, but the parties have been squabbling over their proposed redactions.

Maxwell allegedly made statements in the interview about "consensual, intimate conduct with other adults," but a judge has said she refused to answer many of the questions posed to her, according to court papers.

Epstein's longtime confidante and one-time lover was arrested in July on a six-count federal indictment for trafficking underage girls to be abused by her and the late financier.

She was also charged with two counts of perjury for allegedly lying under oath about Epstein's deviant sexual behavior in the 2016 deposition.

Maxwell refused to say whether she participated in any of Epstein's massage sessions, and kept quiet as prosecutors grilled her on the deceased pedophile's sexual interests. "I cannot tell you what Jeffrey's story is," she said when asked whether "Jeffrey Epstein had a sexual preference for minors."

Throughout the mammoth 450-page interview, Maxwell remained guarded and evasive. Asked whether she was ever aware of any underage girls visiting Epstein's Palm Beach home, she said that "the house is actually quite large," so she would have been unaware of every visitor who came to see Jeffrey.

Rowan Cocoan As re SOTT comment on redactions of sundry names, the whole damn case wouldn't exist if the SOLs were properly enforced, rather than using extreme or PC cases (such as Cosby or Weinstein*) to expand them to the point that they really don't exist and have been extended simply to benefit psychopathic / gold-digging exes out there, and increase prosecutorial power.

End result about >90% of the time: If you make big money years later, some bimbo ex-girlfriend, (even your decade-ago divorced wife) can claim she was 'raped' by you and kept her mouth shut for 15 years, (Her: "I was so traumatized, I forgot!" ) - that is, she forgot UNTIL you, the ex husband/ex boyfriend win the lottery, and/or, as also here, societal standards have been changed and now retroactively applied.

What happens then? She's first gotta get the state to prosecute you, and THEN, post YOUR criminal conviction, her way to your bank account and property is a magnitude easier - all as originally advised by that personal injury attorney she visited at the beginning.

slbeaudry As I recall (and this is sketchy as I ain't gonna research it, but I've seen this legal trick, which is ALWAYS used to justify expansion of executive/prosecutor powers- NEVER to reduce them - such as laws effectively first being made retroactive by judicial fiat many times back when I did criminal defense (e.g., designer drugs) and in civil law, too, where subsequent events are allowed to change the plain meaning of statutes. (Prototypical - latest but not final - end result from all those cases? The USSC saying that when Congress passed the Civil Rights Act that they meant for it to not only cover homosexuals, but also transsexuals. WTF?!)

Also, same usually works like this: Judicial expansion of retroactivity; nigh always followed by the legislature following the ruling and THEN executive also passing a facially valid, signed law which should only apply prospectively, but is instead passed claiming it was effective back in the past as of the date of that earlier court ruling.! That's WRONG!

As I recall, the whole SOL and the way it has been expanded followed in that standard approach which is over three decades old.

I am about done here. It will not surprise you that to explicate this is one of the most PIA type explanations as it requires way more words than most such legal issues.

Rowan Cocoan Might I suggest some legal research then, pointing out which particular statutes are overreaching. Otherwise it seems perfectly valid and your arguments about drugs or anything else are unrelated to CHILD prostitition or sex trafficking, civil or criminal. I think you're a good dude, but just being a lawyer doesn't cut it here for me; I know lots of lawyers

slbeaudry I felt this way long before I became an attorney (with enough experiences with the THEN police state - e.g., age of twenty, onje friend and I had been pulled over together over 20 times for NO REASON. Considering all the other times when he wasn't there, I know the total was well over 60. That was and is the same as cops did and do for DWB. It's how MOST of the enforcement actually works.

That all played a role in my job choice. Once there, I had to help poor SOB's go through shit like that. I am speaking to the issues which are constitutionally substantive law called procedure' as regards this but I ain't done any of that since the 90s and . . . why.

It's more This is the way I see the world, and I have seen the ugly side of the executive and prosecutorial branches and I know so very well WHY hard cases (like this one) make bad law.
