A United Airlines jet with 156 people aboard was diverted Wednesday to Grand Junction, Colorado, after at least six people became ill, United and fire officials said.
One person was being treated at a hospital and five others reported nausea and headaches after oxygen masks deployed on UAL Flight 447 from Denver to Los Angeles, an Airbus A320, the Grand Junction Fire Department told NBC News.
Shawn Montgomery, a spokesman for the fire department, said the hospitalization was likely a precaution because of the patient's medical history.
United said in a statement that the diversion was "due to a medical issue onboard." All passengers were evacuated safely and were to be flown to Los Angeles on a different plane, it said.
Comment: As Emirates 24/7 reports, passengers were actually made anxious and uneasy due to this passenger's undisclosed medical problems:
There were reports of smoke in the cockpit and cabin, but Grand Junction Fire Department spokesman Shawn Montgomery said firefighters saw no smoke when they entered the plane, and that was confirmed by air monitors. All of the passengers were able to walk off the plane, and one person was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Montgomery said a passenger had a medical problem during the flight, which caused other passengers to become anxious, light-headed and nauseated. He declined to say what the medical problem was.

Fire officials said initial reports that there was smoke in the cockpit were incorrect. The "smoke" turned out to be dust and powder from deployment of the plane's oxygen masks, they said.
But the cause of the illnesses remained unknown Wednesday afternoon. There were no lethal or dangerous readings of anything in the air on the plane, and passengers in rows 22 to 27 were being questioned to try to isolate what happened, Montgomery said.
Gee that is interesting huh? Course this will be blamed on a faulty piece of equipment, since the plane didn't actually crash because it was caught in a downdraft from space like the German airliner, or MH-370, which may have been torn to bits by the effects of spraying coal waste across the oceans to kill all the life and modify the plantary atmosphere with HARP, but it's a hint of what's to come for those up on the "Conspiracy theories," or what others call physics.
