Lower Manhattan has been invaded by tens of thousands of protestors who are calling for an end to corporate corruption. The demonstrators have been peaceful and the violence surprisingly has been from the NYPD. Last night a second round of police brutality was served out to some. Luke Rudkowski, an independent journalist, was caught up in the baton swings and pepper spray; he gives us his firsthand account.

Hasn't this been the basic pattern in every single non-violent protest in the history of this planet?
In those cases where the police were not the overt combatants, it has sometimes been proven that criminals or mercenaries unaffiliated with the protests were the ones to start the violence.
It takes an incredible amount of discipline and self-restraint to be involved in a protest of this type and not show anger against the police or others who are being overtly violent and thus attempting to destroy or distract from the validity of your message.
