It is good to have people made aware of the fact that we are surrounded by toxic chemicals in the home.
But to make this statement, "A new study says we tend to put too much blame on environmental disasters that don't actually affect us." is ludicrous!
To say that all of the pollution in the air, streams, lakes, oceans and the land "don't actually affect us" makes this article either a diversion or a cover-up, which pretty much adds up to the same thing: getting people to ignore environmental issues.
