An Edinburgh chip shop owner has bagged a world record after wrapping ten portions of chips in a minute.

Selim Sener was pitted against rivals from Glasgow and Stirling in the event to celebrate National Chip Week.

Mr Sener, 35, said: "I'm really pleased I did it. I've never timed it before, but I did get in a bit of practice over the weekend."

He put his wrapping speed down to 17 years of facing crowds of hungry pub and club-goers in Edinburgh every night.

The record attempt was filmed and will be sent to the Guinness Book of World Records to be verified.
