US Behind Rumors of Coup in China?

Image
This is the extent of the "images proving that a coup has taken place in China".
U.S. intelligence agencies monitoring China's Internet say that from March 14 to Wednesday bloggers circulated alarming reports of tanks entering Beijing and shots being fired in the city as part of what is said to have been a high-level political battle among party leaders - and even a possible military coup.

The Internet discussions included photos posted online of tanks and other military vehicles moving around Beijing.

The reports followed the ouster last week of senior Politburo member and Chongqing Party Secretary Bo Xilai, who was linked to corruption, but who is said to remain close to China's increasingly nationalistic military.

Comment: The only reason for publishing this propaganda piece is to alert readers to the likelihood that it is the US government behind these rumours. Could this mark a ramping up of US efforts to destabilize China?

Global Fascism: Costa Rica's Constitutional Court Confirms Smoking Ban

Image
The magistrates of the Sala Constitucional (Costa Rica's Constitutional Court) on Tuesday found no constitutional defects with the Ley Antitabaco, paving the way for the Presidenta to sign the bill approved by legislators.

By a vote of five to two, the Court gave the nod to the antimosking law, which was sent for a constitutional consult after it was approved in second and final vote.

The acceptance of the consult by the Court made history, as this was the first time a bill was accepted by the court after it being approved in second vote by legislators.

As confirmed by judge Paul Rueda, the Constitutional Court found no problems with the ยข20 colones tax on each cigarette and no problems with the ban on advertising and the smoking ban in sodas, bars, clubs, restaurants and public spaces, including bus stops and taxi stands.

Best of the Web: Sarkozy: Visiting 'hate and terror websites' will be punished

Image
French President Nicolas Sarkozy has spoken out strongly against extremism, but urged his countrymen not to stigmatize Muslims, after a 32-hour siege that resulted in the death of a radical Islamist gunman who confessed to killing seven people.

Sarkozy has proposed a raft of new anti-terrorist measures.

Speaking in a press conference straight after the end of the siege in Toulouse, the French president said anyone regularly visiting websites "justifying terrorism" or "preaching hatred and violence" would be prosecuted.

Comment: That will be "preaching hatred and violence" according to a government that is up to its neck in terrorist activities and thought control.

Sarkozy also called for punishments to those who travel to radical Islamic camps, even if they commit no crimes on French soil.

Comment: This despite the fact that the Toulouse patsy was nowhere near "radical Islamic camps" (although he DID visit Israel).

It is suspected that the Mohamed Merah, the gunman who numbered three Jewish children among his victims, visited Afghanistan and Pakistan on several occasions, fighting alongside the Taliban. Merah claimed links with Al-Qaeda during the siege.

The Ascendence of Sociopaths in US Governance

SOTT psychopaths rule our world

An International Man lives and does business wherever he finds conditions most advantageous, regardless of arbitrary borders. He's diversified globally, with passports from multiple countries, assets in several jurisdictions and his residence in yet another. He doesn't depend absolutely on any country and regards all of them as competitors for his capital and expertise.

Living as an international man used to be just an interesting possibility. But few Americans opted for it, since the US used to reward those who settled in and put down roots. In fact, it rewarded them better than any other country in the world, so there was nothing pressing about becoming an international man.

Things change, however, and being rooted like a plant, at least if you have a choice, is a suboptimal strategy for surviving and prospering. Throughout history, almost every place has at some point become dangerous for those who were stuck there. It may be America's turn.

Suspect in French Jewish school shooting visited Israel

Hours after the death of Mohamed Merah, the man suspected of the shootings in Toulouse and Montauban, new details emerged which seemed to contradict previous reports regarding his identity.

According to a report published in Le Monde on Thursday, Merah was not a member of any well-known Islamic terrorist organization, but did undergo a process of radicalization. Merah also reportedly had entry stamps to Israel and other countries in the region in his passport.

Merah was also added to a "no fly" list maintained by U.S. authorities some time ago, two American officials told Reuters. The officials would not disclose precisely when Merah was placed on the list.

Comment: Israel, a country obsessed with security and naturally suspicious of non-Israelis, non-Jewish, and Arabs. Yet this radical man, who was in a U.S. "no fly" list, visited Israel for some unknown private business, and no one did anything. We wonder what was the purpose of his visit?

Meanwhile, a little-known extremist group on Thursday claimed responsibility for a series of deadly shootings in France, saying they were in response to what it called "Israel's crimes" against the Palestinians.

Comment: Ah, "a little-known extremist group"! We have heard that so many times now it's a classic.

After Bales' arrest, military tried to delete him from the Web

Image
© DVIDSThis photo of Staff Sgt. Robert Bales, right, was removed from Defense Department websites before Bales was identified as a suspect in the killings of 16 Afghan civilians. The man at left is unidentified.
Besides waiting nearly a week before identifying the Army staff sergeant accused of killing 16 Afghan villagers, the U.S. military scrubbed its websites of references to his combat service. Gone were photographs of the suspect, Staff Sgt. Robert Bales, as well as a recounting in his base's newspaper of a 2007 battle in Iraq involving his unit, a report that quoted him extensively. But they weren't really gone.

Given the myriad ways that information remains accessible on the Internet, despite the best efforts to remove it, the material about Bales was still out there and available, such as in cached versions of Web pages. Within minutes of the Pentagon leaking his name Friday evening, news organizations and others found and published his pictures, the account of the battle - which depicts Bales and other soldiers in a glowing light - and excerpts from his wife's personal blog.

So why did the Pentagon try to scrub Bales from the Internet in the first place?

Best of the Web: The Return of Gladio And The Rebirth of Terror Under French Tyrant Nicolas Sarkrazy

Image
Who's the real tyrant who "kills his own people"?
Another day, another false-flag terror event in another advanced Western democracy. This time, the people of France are the target of Western state-sponsored terrorism and the strategy of tension. The patsy's name is Mohammed Merah. The names of the people who were murdered by the French state are Jonathan (Yonatan) Sandler, plus two of his young children named Aryeh and Gabriel, and another child named Myriam Monsonego.

This is an ordinary state-run terrorist operation to increase tension, fear, and hatred in Western society. This is what the fascist State does when it is free to write history on the spot and blow stuff up. It kills innocent children to make the submerged public gasp for air, hate the scapegoat, and demand security and steel nerve from the leaders of the State.

Vincenzo Vinciguerra, an Italian neo-fascist and terrorist, described in 1984 the existence of a shadow network of military officials and political leaders in Italy who frequently organized terror attacks to keep the country within the sphere of right-wing politics. This network was part of a larger structure known as Gladio that included government fascists in Europe, America, and NATO. Vinciguerra, who was a mercenary of this secret state-terror network until the day he raised awareness of its existence, said in the famous documentary, Operation Gladio:
You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple: to force the public to turn to the state to ask for greater security.

"Gaddafi's black box" in French-Mauritanian trap - Sarkozy Wants Him Silenced

When Libya's former spy chief flew to Mauritania last week, he was looking for a safe haven. Instead the man known as "Muammar Gaddafi's black box", the last of the fallen dictator's henchmen still at large, walked into a trap set by French and Mauritanian intelligence.

Gaddafi's head of intelligence, right-hand man and brother-in law, Abdullah al-Senussi, was arrested in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott, last week. The still murky circumstances of his capture set Libya on a collision course with France and the International Criminal Court, which both want Senussi.

Libya wants Senussi to stand trial in Tripoli for a catalogue of crimes. It sent a delegation to Mauritania but it returned without him after officials there said the legal formalities for his extradition were not complete.

Western and Arab powers are all too aware of the secrets Senussi holds, and are anxious to deny him the opportunity to say what he knows in public and expose the Arab and Western governments that used Gaddafi to plot against their enemies.

"He is Gaddafi's black box," said Noman Benotman, a senior Libyan analyst at the Quilliam Foundation. "He knows all the secrets about the dirty deals, plots to kill - and even what underwear Gaddafi wore."
