Pierre Brochand, the former director of the General Directorate for External Security (DGSE) between 2002 and 2008, made the comments during a speech to the Gaullist Amicale of the Senate.
The intel chief said that mass migration had produced "a cross-cutting impact on all of our collective life, which I consider to be generally negative."
Although asserting that immigration in and of itself was not "evil," Brochand noted that the "very particular immigration that we have been subjected to for 50 years" has caused a "creeping third-worldization of French society," as well as "regression in key areas, such as education, productivity, public services, safety, and civility."
Brochand sought to debunk the often cited argument, most recently voiced by President Emmanuel Macron, that mass migration has always been the norm.
"For 1,000 years, from the Carolingians to Napoleon III, nothing happened," he said, adding that it wasn't until the 1970's that newcomers from "the third world of highly failing societies," most of them Muslims, began pouring in.
Noting that another wave was caused by the Arab Spring, Brochand said there were now 25 times more Muslims living in France than in the 1960's and that one must have a a "hummingbird's brain" to think that ancient rivalries between Christians and Muslims would not be reignited.
Brochand called for immigration levels to be cut by at least ten times, with student visas slashed by 300 per cent and all non-contributory welfare payments to foreigners to be eliminated.
France must "get out of our straightjacket and take back, by finally showing political will, the steering wheel of the crazy truck that has been driving itself for 50 years," according to Brochand.
As we previously highlighted, France's greatest living author Michel Houellebecq says Europe will be "swept away" by mass migration, adding that he was "shocked" that the 'great replacement' is treated as a conspiracy theory.
Following the gruesome murder of a 12-year-old girl in Paris by an Algerian migrant who was in the country illegally, it was subsequently revealed that just 0.2 per cent of illegal Algerian migrants are deported from France.
A poll taken in April last year found that the majority of French citizens thought some form of "civil war" was likely as a result of failed multiculturalism and attacks on French identity.

This is not a narrative. This is the intent.
There is nothing the controllers want more to bring about the planed chaos than to get everyone to hate each other and with luck get then to start fighting. They have been doing there best to create civil war in the US but it hasn't worked so far. Perhaps that why they're getting some top dog to suggest it, sort of giving them a nudge.
With old time hate propaganda the stories would always concern the designated enemy as having raped a Nun. But now there are no Nuns and with everyone brutalized by TV violence, they can't start a war with a rape victim!
Frankly, I don't trust a word that issues from the msm or folks like Watson either. As I have no means of checking the facts myself, I am not buying it. It's quite possibly just another pack of lies/phony shooting, like everything else these days.
I know a few Muslims and the are perfectly decent people.
If you want to believe everything you read, without doing any personal research, like most people, then so be it, but it could well be that this story is fake because it reads like a Hollywood script to me.
So do I. I never suggested all muslims are predators but the % of them among immigrants is inordinately high. I also know that one of my sisters started a short lived relationship with a muslim who became controlling at the second date. She put an end to that right away. By the way what about all of the no-go zones throughout Europe big cities ? What is your excuse for them ? Why a no-go zone in the first place ? If they want to live life the way they were where they came from then why did they move to a catholic country ?
And many muslim countries are actually encouraged to send their "trash" to Europe. I neither suggest they have more of that then we in the West do ourselves ... Which is most probably ok, in their culture, but not anymore in the West. I think we don't need any "cultural enrichment", in fact I think this term to brainwash the people to accept and welcome the destruction of their own culture.
By the way, a century (even some decades ago), such a thing would have been considered normal even in most Western cultures. Feminism and promiscuity are major components of the attempted cultural destruction.
As for the no-go zones, the government could put a stop to them tomorrow if they wanted to, with all their police forces and surveillance equipment, Who is responsible for opening the borders/flood gates? Who is responsible for maintaining order? Same governments who run the drug trade everywhere, who make and sell all the armaments, who pay for and create the wars.
Governments are not for the people but against them. There is a war on against humanity at the moment to herd us towards the nwo. and transhumanism is to be our future.
