Merkel admits Minsk peace accords were instead signed 'to give Ukraine' cover to prepare for conflict with Russia

German ex-Chancellor Angela Merkel reveals that in 2014, the Minsk agreements aimed to give Ukraine time to get stronger and for NATO to increase its support to the country in the face of Russia.

The Minsk accords were signed to "give Ukraine time" to strengthen itself, according to ex-German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who was in office from 2005 to 2021, in an interview published on Wednesday in the Zeit newspaper.

Merkel said "The 2014 Minsk agreement was an attempt to give time to Ukraine. It also used this time to become stronger as can be seen today. The Ukraine of 2014-2015 is not the modern Ukraine."

According to her, "it was clear to everyone" that the conflict had been put on hold, noting that the issue had not been settled, "yet this was what gave Ukraine invaluable time."

She voiced doubt that NATO states could not have supported Kiev to the level that they do today at the time.

Merkel was the German chancellor when Ukraine's state coup happened in 2014, and the Minsk accords on resolving the Donbass war were signed with her contribution.

Previously, in an interview with German magazine Der Spiegel, Merkel discussed her final encounters with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying that during the ex-Chancellor's farewell visit to Moscow in August 2021 she felt "in terms of power politics, you're done," adding that "for Putin, only power counts."

Comment: It seems Merkel never tires of deception.

She further explained that the fact that Putin brought Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov along with him to this final visit made it clear to Merkel that her power has crumbled, given the fact that in the past their meetings were "often in private."

According to Zakharova, the ex-Chancellor's confession "says the horrible: fraud as modus operandi of the West - machinations, manipulations, all kinds of distortion of truth, law and justice imaginable."

"They [Western representatives - TASS] knew it back then, in 2015, already, when they held hours-long talks, they knew that they would never implement it, that they would pump the Kiev regime with weapons," the diplomat underscored. "They had no mercy for anyone: women, children, civilians of Donbass and Ukraine in general. They needed conflict, and they were ready for it back then already, back in 2015."

It was obvious all along that former Ukrainian President, Pyotr Porous-Chancre, was lying non-stop about his commitment to the Minsk accords.

His successor, the diminutive Voldemort Zelenskii, is cut from the same dissembling cloth. But hey, the guy can play a piano with his penis, which even the great Artur Rubinstein (probably) couldn't do. I'm sure that's the reason a second rate actor/comedian from Ukraine is currently a near-billionaire with (allegedly) multi-million dollar mansions in Miami, Tuscany and Tel-Aviv, and not by being a blood-thirsty murderous lying scumbag who is laughingly sending tens of thousands of Ukrainians to their certain deaths fighting those evil Russkies, all at the behest of the collective West's ruling neocons and greedy oligarchs like Soros and Kolomoisky.

So Germany and France signed an international legal Minsk agreement falsely. They faked it.

Do you wonder why Russian realizes that an agreement with NATO, EU and the USA is simply theater for the stupid? Why would Russia try to negotiate anything with countries or organizations that ignore international law?
