Peterson's new book, '12 Rules For Life, an Antidote to Chaos', is currently one of the most popular titles on Adlibris - a Swedish online book retailer.
"12 Rules for Life crawled out from under a rock in Sweden to take the Number One spot in book sales," Peterson wrote on Twitter.
The book has been battling it out with two other volumes for the top spot, but as of this writing appears to have solidified its first place position.
The outspoken professor and clinical psychologist recently traveled to Sweden to promote 12 Rules - prompting the country's "feminist" foreign minister, Margot Wallström, to quip that Peterson should "crawl back under the rock he came from." She also complained that she couldn't "grasp why people waste so much time on that man."
Well, it now appears that plenty of Swedes are willing to fork over their hard-earned krona to "waste time" on Peterson.
Liberals have objected to Peterson, who has sharply criticized post-modernism, Marxism and progressive ideals.
The professor spawned a devout internet following after releasing a series of videos challenging Canada's Bill C-16, which Peterson claimed would compel Canadians to use gender-neutral pronouns under threat of fine or even imprisonment. His legendary television appearances have severely upset the left and inspired a host of widely-circulated memes.
That he believes in freedom of individual responsibility as a basis for a greater social responsibility is his 'crime'.
That he exercises and demonstrates this, is his modelling of a way to honourably dialogue the issues - and not be drawn into the personal baiting of his own ego. This is not to say he is without ego - but that it is integrated to serving a higher purpose that inherently extends value and worth rather than asserting false values from a sense of unworthiness in grievance and victimhood.
Self-responsibility is a basis for shared education - not the subjection and induction of others to ideological management.
The big disconnect is the exposure of that facet of our human psyche that wants to feel better about itself as a way of masking OVER its own hatred - which it then sees in or outsources to OTHERS without any self recognition, to judge and treats them as if they ARE the hateful and unworthy in a sense of callous superiority, masked under every guise of 'caring' or sympathy.
Moral superiority is an oxymoron, but those who have opened a more aligned integrity of being have no need to seek reinforcement for a sense of self-lack at others expense - and so are essentially honouring in their extension of response to being truly engaged with - as well as charitable to a sense of willingness or capacity to grow and learn in others whose approach may be arrogant and ignorant in its presumptions.
Worth noting that Jordan Peterson in a sense stands in the lion's mouth and not as a self launched self help expert - and thinks on his feet or more often articulates a thinking that is the result of a transformational process of human being rather than an indoctrination of appeal to weakness and corresponding self-inflation.
And I feel free to disagree with him in the frames and forms of his thought while recognizing that they resonate with many in a way that is truly appreciated.
Real relationships are the key - not the specific forms of ways to re-waken to them from being real in our self.
