v2 / r = (465.1)2 / 6378000 = 216318 / 6378000 = 0,03392 m/s2
In the above formula, v is the speed at which the surface of the earth rotates at the equator. It comes from this simple calculation: 40074 km/ 86164 sec= 0.4651 km/sec = 465.1 meter/sec. So 40074 km of circumference at the equator and 86164 seconds in one day or full rotation.
The second number is the radius of the earth at the equator. As you can see, the acceleration of the centrifugal force at the equator is a mere 0,03392 m/s2. Compare that to the measured acceleration of gravity at 9,81 m/s2 and you should be able to understand how and why the water and everything keeps from flying off into space.
You see, there is no centrifugal force at the poles and we know what acceleration an object falls with. We don't need to know how exactly gravity comes about to know that it's happening. I'm afraid your Buoyancy explains nothing.
The fact that you even need to explain your figures shows how ignorant you are about the research that is done by people who question what we are told about the globe model
If you want to be pedantic with your figures then you might want to use correct ones - [Link]
At the end of the day whether you want to use solar or stellar / sidereal time and polar axis or flattened distance figures its not going to make much difference to the low centrifugal force
Gravity is actually measured as a net affect (so includes centrifugal force) and varies at different locations - [Link]
The acceleration of gravity varies from 9.780 m/s2 at the equator to 9.832 m/s2 at the poles (a difference of 0.53%). This is in part due to the centrifugal force resulting from the rotation of the earth, which varies from zero at the north pole to a maximum value at the equator, and in part due to the bulge of the earth at the equator, resulting in a greater distance to the mass center of the earth.
Going back to the crux of Trumanshow's original comment ...
We have solar and sidereal day lengths but these are observations (from on Earth) and relate to other objects, which are all part of the same "model"
We do not have a measured rotation speed of Earth based from an external point of view
So why shouldn't we be asking for e.g. a measuring device located at a Lagrange point?
It's called science ... the real science of measuring things
Gravity is factual. Truman keeps saying things fall due to buoyancy, which is patent nonsense.
Up is up and down is down ... things fall down, not up ... this is known in the mind of every child
Free fall in other circumstance - e.g. through air, depends on the density of the medium - if the medium is denser than one of the objects, that object will not fall at the same speed of the other one
A difference in density (buoyancy) between the objects and the medium are in fact the only critical points - an object less dense than the medium will not fall
Whilst they may have some theories behind mass (Higgs boson) it is still effectively unexplained - [Link]
Fine, but two objects with wildly different densities both denser than air and the same dimensions WILL fall at the same rate. If it was buoyancy, the denser one would fall more quickly. You can see this with sinking weights. Some materials just sink quicker.
Also, you mention vacuum. Why does it fall in a vacuum?
Also, buoyancy depends on pressure and pressure is generated by some force that pulls things down. So what is it, then, this force?
Surely two objects of different masses should actually fall at different speeds as the force on them would be different
The difference may be fractional due to the different proportions between M1 and M2 but nonetheless, it should still be possible to measure a difference
I don't view a vacuum as any different to any other medium but experiments would usually be done in a vacuum to avoid potential resistance of a medium. A vacuum alleviates the requirement for exactly the same shape / dimensions when comparing two objects
F= GM/R^2 x m where M is earth's mass and m is the object's mass.
Since F=ma, as well, you get that
a= F/m= GM/R^2 x m / m= GM/R^2 which is unrelated to the mass of the object.
This is exactly what happens. If it was bouyancy, the acceleration would be differnet for two objects of the same size but different mass, just as it is underwater.
Also, we know that F=ma. That's just how it is, wheter you believe in gravity or not. That formula explains all.
Neither TrumanShow, myself or others are trying to provide a model ~ we are just questioning the current one
We accept heavy items fall to the ground and its not something that needs massive reasoning - unless you want to introduce concepts such as living upside down on a globe
I'd be far more interested in getting to the bottom of how planes travel around the alleged curve as this is definitely not caused by gravity
But the fact remains: there is a measurable force that has this effect.
Now, about you other misgivings, I'd be happy to discuss them. Not sure what is strange about planes.

I am also trying to tell you that magnetism certainly can't have that effect. It's probably something on a subatomic level where forces affect matter in different ways than we're used to.
