Palling around with terrorists
Even as we type this Internet article, trucks full of cheap, delicious and very illegal oil shipments from Syria are pouring into Turkey. But who is to blame? "Famous Russian chess players," according to Turkey's president. Yes, this makes perfect sense:
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday said Turkey had proof Russia was involved in illegal oil trade with ISIS in Syria, countering "immoral" Russian allegations that his own family was importing oil from the jihadists.

"We have the proof in our hands. We will reveal it to the world," Erdogan said in a televised address in Ankara.
Erdogan said Thursday "a famous Russian chess player" was also involved in the oil business with ISIS, without giving a name. "He's also in this race," he said.
Sweet mother of God. Purely for comedy's sake, let's assume he's correct (he might be referring to Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, a wealthy Russian businessman and long-standing president of the World Chess Federation). Is Erdogan incapable of understanding the difference between "ISIS oil tankers are pouring into my country while I look the other way" and "one dude with a Russian passport is making money from an illegal activity". Is Moscow also personally responsible for every Chechen who joins ISIS?

Has there ever been a more hilarious attempt at evasion, in all of recorded human history?

Comment: It's hard to say it's hilarious - it just goes to show the amount of hubris these idiots have.

In conclusion, Garry Kasparov will almost certainly "tweet" about how this proves Putin = ISIS.
