I have witnessed the immediate effects on a baby whose mother began taking antibiotics when breast feeding. The child went from having normal elimination to having very little elimination, and this situation continues to this day. The child is now four years old. Once the healthy gut bacteria has been decimated by antibiotics, it is almost impossible to restore the gut to its original healthy condition. And I've read that this problem affects future generations. What is particularly sad about this is that the minor infection for which the mother took antibiotics could have been cleared up easily and naturally.
