Two tornadoes were spotted near DIA, according to the airport's Twitter account. Airport passengers were proactively sheltered until the danger passed. RTD put all SkyRide buses from DIA on hold.

A debris field was spotted near Havana Street and East 51st Avenue. Sk9 flew over the scene and found damage to an industrial business.

There were no reports of injuries.

Flash flood threat

A flash flood watch is in effect through Monday evening for the southwestern part of Colorado. Areas south of Monument Hill along Interstate 25 to southern Colorado could also see large rain amounts in a short amount of time. There is also concern for flash flooding for the Waldo Canyon burn scar.

Tuesday's storms will be more numerous in the afternoon and continue into Wednesday. One to 3 inches of rain is possible during this period. Look for flash flood watches being issued for both of these days due to the heavy rain. Stronger storms could produce from 1 to 2 inches per hour, and these storms could last for several hours.

Temperatures from Wednesday through Thursday will be in the 70s. The chance for rain will decrease and the temperatures will gradually warm into the weekend.
