The US constantly refuses requests to extradite - even where (unlike Russia) they have an extradition treaty with the requesting country and even where (unlike Snowden) the request involves actual, serious crimes, such as genocide, kidnapping, and terrorism. Maybe those facts should be part of whatever media commentary there is on Putin's refusal to extradite Snowden and Obama's rather extreme reaction to it.
Obama cannot handle Putin or his refusal, and doesn't want anyone to suspect that he's been beaten at his own game. He cannot push Russia around, the opponent is too strong.
With the ME embassies closed down, the camps are now divided.
Meanwhile, an intensely paranoid govt. weakens itself both home and abroad.
Europe is in trouble, and coalescing power in the ME will force an isolated Israel to come to terms with the Palestinians.
After that, the possibility of the Camps striking Europe becomes real.
It does not have to be.
There is yet time to avert disaster.
But, not a whole lot of time, for the sand in the Hourglass of History runs short.
