I noticed PORK selling at a ridiculous R88.00/kg at a local supermarket. I can still get lamb at R60.50 through a farmer contact. I know of 4 people who were pick-pocketed last week Friday alone. The battery was stolen out of my car the night before, during the night, while it was parked in my car port, three meters from my bedroom window. When I bought the place I'm staying in now, six years ago, electricity cost me about R75.00/month on a pay-as-you-go meter. I now pay R300 in summer, R350 - R400 in winter. At any rate, my wood-fired heater is in the process of being installed. Solar/wind power will come next, assuming comet Ison doesn't sparkle too much or turn out to be the size of Earth.
