OF THE
TIMES
Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows. You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well... You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues. Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backward—reversing cause and effect...
In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. You turn the page, and forget what you know.

It not only misdefines "dualism" but implies that a "reckless" attitude towards life is somehow inferior to a "careful" attitude towards life.
What this research does, to the extent that it is accurate, is define the personality types (or tone levels) that are attracted to these two different approaches to life.
If you are interested in living in careful, mousey compliance to the accepted social norms, then you will tend to reject the notion that mind includes much more than brain.
And if you are a bit brash in your approach to life, and like to get things done even if it pisses someone off, then you are more likely to embrace the notion that the mind includes much more than the brain.
Which personality type would YOU rather be in the company of, work with, be lead by, or trust your life to?
