" The newspaper quoted witnesses as saying that the officer ordered the naked man to back away, and when he ignored the demand, the officer shot him. Witnesses said that the naked man continued his attack after being shot once, and the officer shot him several more times. " but on the video, "one of the men in that fight threatened the officer.the officer then opened fire" now i know in a case like it doesnt really matter because the guy was crazy and eating someones face and needed to be stopped, but that detail could actually change the story.what if the guy was so messed up on some type of drug that he wasnt in his right mind and didnt hear the officer?he couldve have been taken out without losing his life and put in a cell until said drug could leave his system.on the other hand if he wasnt on any hard drugs and just decided to go crazy on someone and threatened an officer then maybe opening fire would be called for.maybe im just being too analytic this morning and will most likely feel like a dummy when the full story comes out later.
I found a link to a Miami station that says the naked flesh eating man went after the officer like a "rabid dog" after the officer tried to separate the men. From the way this story reads, it sounds like the officer fired at the attacker and he didn't stop so the cop tried to separate the men. Upon separating the men, the naked flesh eating man tried to attack the officer, like a rabid dog, maybe in an attempt to try to eat his face, and that is when the officer fired the remaining shots. I don't know but if I hear of one or two more of these in the next week, I'm getting my zombie gear in order.

[Link]Basically a man strips naked and tries to bite someone on the neck as he is tearing their clothing off as well. He was killed by repeated 'stun gun' usage. Hrm...sounds like he was also hard to take down, like the Face Eating guy.

Here a man gets into a fight at Lowe's and bites two employees. This may just be a frustrated shopper...

Same Day as the 'Face Eater', an anesthesiologist is resisting arrest in Florida. Found with ~50k cash, two guns and speeding (maybe trying to get out of dodge?). They said he was drunk, but maybe he was 'high' on whatever the others have been exposed to.
