The high pressure system that will move into the eastern part of the country and wipe away all the clouds and crummy weather will be the primer for possible tropical development in the Bahamas that can threaten Florida. I preach all the time that big highs can produce spin along old frontal boundaries thus producing tropical systems. With the old front sitting over the Bahamas, we should see a storm spin up along the front which could threaten Florida by the end of next weekend. My guess is that the system if it does develop will be a tropical storm that would bring heavy rain to Florida and parts of the Southeast.

The second severe weather season will get going in the Plains later this week and weekend. I know the second season is usually in November, but let's just say the the season is starting a little early. The map below depicts the area of concern for severe weather.
