A moderate earthquake shook the Northern California coast up to the Oregon border Sunday night, but there were no reports of injuries or damage.

The magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck along the Pacific Ocean floor at 7:32 p.m. about 41 miles northwest of Eureka, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The California Highway Patrol reported receiving calls asking about the size of the quake but no requests for emergency assistance connected to the temblor.
