Civilized society: Russia bans Pornhub, YouPorn - Suggests citizens 'go meet someone in real life'

russia internet
Russian courts have ruled that two popular adult websites, Pornhub and YouPorn, will be banned in Russia. With access to the troves of free porn suspended, Russian social networks exploded with sarcasm.

Both sites were added to the blacklist of Russian media by internet watchdog Roskomnadzor on Tuesday.

The agency did not specify why the courts ordered the sites to be blocked, but reiterated its advice from the last time it banned Pornhub in 2015. Answering a person on Twitter who asked whether the watchdog offered any alternative to the adult site, it said the alternative is to go out and meet somebody in real life.

Comment: What a response!

Comment: Exactly, that's part of the problem. Even when people get off porn, its negative effects linger on. Even if this ban of just two websites is temporary - or, if the ban sticks this time, all the other websites will remain available in Russia - the Russian authorities are clearly making a symbolic stand against this soul-destroying 'past-time'.

New York authorities have confirmed that an improvised explosive device stuffed inside a dumpster was the likely cause of a blast in Manhattan which resulted in multiple casualties. The mayor called the incident an "intentional act."

The outdoor explosion occurred at 135 23rd Street, between Sixth and Seventh avenues in New York City, outside the Associated Blind Housing facility that cares for the visually impaired.

At least 29 people were injured in the blast, with one person suffering serious wounds. Twenty four people with non-life threatening injuries were transported to local hospitals.

NYC mayor Bill de Blasio called the incident an "intentional act," adding that, according to preliminary information, "there is no evidence at this point of a terror connection."

"There is no specific and credible threat against New York city at this point in time from any terror organization," the mayor stressed. "Based on this hour there is no specific connection to the incident in New Jersey."

Comment: Update 18 Sept, 9pm CET

The authorities have reported that there's "no connection with international terrorism."

Perhaps 'ISIS' didn't so it, but whatever way you slice it, the event has surely something to do with distracting people from the fact that the US is blatantly providing air support to the enemy it has supposedly spent the last 15 years fighting.

Belgium - a country with an 800% spike in euthanasia over a period of 10 years - has just euthanized its first underage person. This follows a 2014 law allowing minors to be euthanized in particularly critical cases.

Not much information was given to the press by physicians from the national committee for euthanasia. It was merely reported that the person was a minor, and that they were critically ill, according to Reuters.

At least one person has been killed and five more, including two police officers, injured in a shooting rampage in West Philadelphia. The suspect was later shot dead by the police during the chase.

A man ambushed a police officer, Sgt. Sylvia Young, who was sitting in a police car parked in West Philadelphia on Friday evening, US media report. The policewoman was shot eight times and hit in the arm and her protective vest several times, and is now in the hospital in stable condition, according to Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross Jr.

Nearby police officers began chasing the man immediately after the incident. Meanwhile, the gunman approached a bar, which had its door open, and injured a security guard there. He then grabbed a woman from the bar and used her as a human shield, the commissioner said, adding that the suspect then shot her in the leg and fled again.

Luxury sex doll company RealDolls' CEO Matt McMullen has lifted the lid on the future of our kinky sex partners. And it's better than you could have imagined. The erotic cyborgs which have interchangeable body parts will chat, have an accent, move and smile.

But what's really going to get blokes' pulses racing is the bedroom toys will breathe, talk dirty, have a temperature and a personality all thanks to artificial intelligence.

The top CEO's focus with the robots is to create a "believable" experience for the user similar to that a human relationship.

Comment: This is the sad state of society progressively getting more and more out of touch with normal people and communities. They are being encouraged to live isolated lives without the need for human contact.

Los Angeles sheriff's deputies use robot to snatch rifle from barricaded suspect - and other robots in the news

L.A. Sheriff's Deputies Deploy Robot to Stealthily Grab Rifle from Attempted Murder Suspect
An hours-long standoff in the darkness of the high desert came to a novel end when Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies used a robot to stealthily snatch a rifle from an attempted murder suspect, authorities said Thursday.

Officials said the use of the robot to disarm a violent suspect was unprecedented for the Sheriff's Department, and comes as law enforcement agencies increasingly rely on military-grade technology to reduce the risk of injury during confrontations with civilians.

"The robot was a game changer here," said Capt. Jack Ewell, a tactical expert with the Sheriff's Department โ€” the largest sheriff's department in the nation. "We didn't have to risk a deputy's life to disarm a very violent man."

It began late in the evening of Sept. 8, when deputies in Lancaster were pursuing a man suspected of trying to kill one person and robbing two others.

Survey shows over 40% of young people in Japan are still virgins

Nearly half of Japanese adults do not start having sex until after they reach 34 years of age, as the majority of young adults remain single in the country, where the population has fallen by nearly 1 million in the past five years.

The study, conducted by the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research, revealed that 42 percent of the men and 44.2 percent of the women aged 18 to 34 are still virgins in Japan.

The trend in society seems to have deteriorated since the last study came out in 2010. At the start of the decade, only 36.2 percent of men and 38.7 percent of women said they had never had sex.

Furthermore, as the new research revealed, the trend is unlikely to change in the near future as 70 percent of unmarried men and 60 percent of unmarried women have still yet to find a partner for a steady relationship.

The nation's largest police union on Friday endorsed Donald Trump for president, lauding his commitment to police officers.

The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) gave the GOP presidential nominee its endorsement after he received support from more than two-thirds of the group's national board.

"[Trump] has seriously looked at the issues facing law enforcement today. He understands and supports our priorities and our members believe he will make America safe again," said Chuck Canterbury, the FOP's national president.
