NY Times ignores Israeli killing of Egyptians in its coverage of demos against embassy

Yesterday's New York Times front-page story on Egyptian protests against the Israeli embassy largely neglects a primary cause of the anger: Israeli forces' killing of five Egyptian policemen. Egyptian anger over these deaths grew even greater when Israel's defense minister Ehud Barak refused to apologize.

The story is co-written by Ethan Bronner, who is the Times' Jerusalem Bureau Chief and is based in Israel, not Egypt. The Times fails to disclose that Bronner's son is in the Israeli military (and that Mr. Bronner is living in a house Israel confiscated from Palestinians).

Only in the third-to-last paragraph of the article, which emphasizes Israeli victimization, does the Times mention that an "episode" that may be related to the Egyptian protests is the "accidental Israeli shooting of at least three Egyptian soldiers inside their territory..."

The Times fails to report that the Egyptians were not just shot, they were killed; that most reports call the victims "security personnel" or policemen (i.e. civilians), not soldiers; and that the number is six,* not three.

The Corruption of Science: Pressure for positive results puts science under threat, study shows

Image

Scientific research may be in decline across the globe because of growing pressures to report only positive results, new analysis suggests.

A study by the University of Edinburgh examined more than 4,600 scientific research papers published between 1990 and 2007 and found a steady decline in studies in which the findings contradicted scientific hypotheses.

Papers reporting null or negative findings are in principle as useful as positive ones, but they attract fewer readers and citations, so scientific journals tend to reject them.

It is acknowledged among scientists that this problem might be worsening, because competition in science is growing and jobs and grants are given to scientists who publish frequently in high-ranking journals. Many researchers, therefore, have speculated that scientists will increasingly pursue predictable outcomes and produce positive results through re-interpretation, selection or even manipulation of data.

Comment: It's obvious to anyone with two neurons firing that our society is in a very dire state. Lies are pervasive in every aspect of our lives, and science is not an exception. Read the latest issue of the Dot Connector magazine to understand to what extent greed, ego, power machinations and other psychopathic influences manifest themselves in science and in scientific community, and how we learned to accept the corruption to our own collective detriment.

Afghanistan: Bomb at US Base Reminder of Raging Afghan War

Kabul - A powerful Taliban truck bomb that wounded 77 American soldiers and killed five Afghans outside a combat outpost served as a reminder on Sunday that 10 years after the Sept. 11 attacks, nearly 100,000 U.S. troops are still fighting a war that shows no signs of slowing down.

No U.S. troops were killed when the massive bomb loaded on a truck filled with firewood exploded Saturday night just outside the gates of Combat Outpost Sayed Abad in eastern Wardak province. NATO said a protective barrier at the entrance absorbed most of the force of the blast, although the area outside the base was hit hard.

Officials said the Afghans killed included a policeman and four civilians, including a 3-year-old girl. Another 17 Afghans - 14 civilians and three policemen - were wounded. The provincial governor said the blast was so powerful it damaged about 100 shops in the nearby Sayed Abad bazaar.

Although Saturday's truck bombing occurred outside the base, the numbers of injuries it caused was significant. Combat outposts usually house about 200 troops.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. Earlier, they had issued a statement vowing to fight until all foreign troops leave. The radical Islamic movement, which gave shelter to Osama bin Laden and al-Qaida when it ruled Afghanistan, also stressed that it had no role in the Sept. 11 attacks, and it accused the U.S. of using them as a pretext to invade the country.

Comment: There is just so much propaganda in this story that it is difficult to deal with line by line. Al-CIAda is a U.S., Israeli sponsored false flag terror organization. Bin-Laden was framed and known to have been under watch on Sept. 10th, the day before America was attacked.

Here are a few nuances a person might consider about 9-11, S-Elections in the U.S., how propaganda is made by the media and many wide ranging cover-ups across the whole political spectrum. You might also notice Rice and Powell say Saddam is NOT a threat to anyone in early 2001.

Obama in tizzy over embassy takeover

US President Barack Obama has called on Egypt to protect the Israeli embassy in Cairo, expressing "great concern" over the storming of the embassy by Egyptian demonstrators.

According to a White House statement on Friday, Obama urged Egypt "to honor its international obligations to safeguard the security of the Israeli embassy," AFP reported.

"The president expressed his great concern about the situation at the embassy, and the security of the Israelis serving there," the statement said.

Obama also held a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"The president and the prime minister agreed to stay in close touch until the situation is resolved," the White House statement added.

The Israeli ambassador to Egypt, Yitzhak Levanon, flew out of Cairo a few hours after demonstrators stormed the Israeli embassy.

Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak called US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta in the early hours of Saturday morning Tel Aviv time and urged Washington to help protect the Israeli embassy.

In speaking with my fellow Americans about 9/11 ten years after the fact, I have found that many, sadly and unfortunately, have either forgotten what happened that terrible day or have purchased the propaganda delivered to them by their own "trusted" main stream US media.

What especially concerns me is the progressive dummying down of our youth; specifically those under 20 years old who either hardly remember that day as it happened or where not even born yet. These people must rely on what is told to them by "trusted" sources. In other words, our American youth are getting an even larger dose of propaganda then we did shortly after the event and it's troubling.

US Congressman Witnessed European Special Forces Beheading Libyans

Walter Fauntroy, Feared Dead in Libya, Returns Home -- Guess Who He Saw Doing the Killing?

Former U.S. Congressman Walter Fauntroy, who recently returned from a self-sanctioned peace mission to Libya, said he went into hiding for about a month in Libya after witnessing horrifying events in Libya's bloody civil war -- a war that Fauntroy claims is backed by European forces.

Fauntroy's sudden disappearance prompted rumors and news reports that he had been killed.

In an interview inside his Northwest D.C. home last week, the noted civil rights leader, told the Afro that he watched French and Danish troops storm small villages late at night beheading, maiming and killing rebels and loyalists to show them who was in control.

"'What the hell' I'm thinking to myself. I'm getting out of here. So I went in hiding," Fauntroy said.

The rebels told Fauntroy they had been told by the European forces to stay inside. According to Fauntroy, the European forces would tell the rebels, "'Look at what you did.' In other words, the French and Danish were ordering the bombings and killings, and giving credit to the rebels.

"The truth about all this will come out later," Fauntroy said.

Another political psychopath outs himself: On eve of tenth anniversary, US Congressman Eric Cantor insists on massive cuts for 9/11 first responders

Yesterday, President Obama requested $5.1 billion to provide disaster relief to communities struggling to recover from recent hurricanes, floods, earthquakes and wildfires. The request includes $500 million in emergency funds FEMA needs to continue to operate effectively through the end of September.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, whose home state of Virginia was hit by an earthquake and Hurricane Irene, is demanding more partisan spending cuts in exchange for approving the request. From Politico:
But a spokesperson for House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) signaled late Friday that the GOP is likely to insist on offsets for the $500 million in emergency funds Obama requested for 2011...

"The House has passed $1 billion in disaster relief funds that is fully offset, which we will look to move as quickly as possible."
