OF THE

Heaven and hell are eternal places because they are always present at the extremes of human existence, for better or for worse. People are constantly choosing between them, although they are generally not conscious of that in an articulated manner.
Bravo St George! Thank you for setting a precedent. Let the Baton Rouge welfare leeches and their enablers pay their own bills.

The local news reports are full of earthquake news at the moment. Christchurch has had a couple of hundred aftershocks since the "big" event a few days ago - and they are all shallow. Many of these extend into the M5-6 range - there was a M5.1 today that was very powerful due to its low depth. The ground is shifting and dropping. The constant shaking continues to weaken the structural integrity of many buildings and these are progressively being taken down by maintenance crews.
The drainage and sewage systems are broken up in many places and will take months - up to a year - to mend. Christchurch is a beautiful town with lovely people living there. And now it's slowly falling apart. Let's hope that this stops soon and life returns to normal. Though this may be hoping against hope.
On the positive side, people are getting together to help each other to somehow get through this situation. Neighbours are there for each other even though they're devastated. People are getting together to assist with the clean up and just to cheer up a little.
That's the Kiwi Spirit for ya!
