NewsReal: How Serious Are Western Leaders About Full-on War With Russia?

We heard last week that some EU leaders, notably French president Macron, want to send Western armed forces into Ukraine in order to 'stop Russia from winning'. We know that their armed forces ARE already in Ukraine, but the implication of recent fighting-talk is that they're considering escalating the current 'proxy war' to 'the next level'.

How serious ARE Western leaders about doing this? They sound convinced that there is no other way, but are they just 'posturing'?

We may soon find out because, in the meantime, unless SOMETHING changes, Trump and other populists' victories are going to end Western hegemony and thus profitable war-making. What better way to stave off revolution at home than by sending would-be revolutionary males off to a bloody war...

If the West thinks they can call Russia's bluff by openly sending in NATO troops, then they will be in for a very nasty surprise.

Macron is foolish to think it would give Russia a 'strategic dilema' because of fear of the consequences of directly attacking NATO forces in Ukraine. I notice he said nothing about Article 5, possibly because he knows it will be challenged, and, if so, signal the collapse of NATO's supposed unity and strength.

None of Europe's militaries want to tangle with Russia - they've seen what it can do! They won't come to one another's aid if Russia retaliates. Russia will certainly call their bluff regarding Article 5 and will deliberately target the NATO forces (as it's doing already with foreign mercenaries).

It has repeatedly warned the West what will happen.

eulogical Yep. If the Cheese-Eating Surrender Monkeys enter the Ukraine they are then attacking Russia. The rest of NATO has no obligation to help them. They will then burn, just like the Leopards, Challengers and Abrams and etc.

Jamso Current tanks, and I include Russian ones, in the world of satellite ISR, autonomous drones, ATGMs and hypersonic missiles are mostly obsolete because they are destroyed at much less the cost of building them. Perhaps newer versions will overcome this but, for now, they are not cost effective in most combat situations.

My first time in San Antonio on the River Walk was when we drove down there as a family via Ohio from Buffalo with a pitstop so memorable in Waco. ha, ha.ha......oh god.......too funny the hot water for those from Buffalo in the pool been in car stuck with family close packed in on the road after Dad got a ticket!
