A few days after he was attacked by his own dog, a 35-year-old man from Geesthacht near Hamburg died from severe bite injuries. His death was confirmed in a hospital on Friday evening, as the police confirmed on Sunday morning.
The 35-year-old was found bleeding profusely in a forest last Wednesday by a walker. His dog, an American Bully XL, appeared to be guarding him and reacted aggressively to the paramedics who were called. Police forces shot the animal.
According to the information, the animal was neither wearing a leash nor a muzzle. It initially remained unclear how long his owner had been lying injured on the ground before the walker found him.
According to the information, the dog had already attacked and seriously injured the man's partner at the beginning of January. According to police, she was hospitalized for at least two weeks and was released just a day before the new attack.
Breed banned in Britain
In Great Britain, the government decreed last November that dogs of the American Bully XL breed could no longer be sold or rehomed. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak had previously announced the ban in a video message. "The American Bully XL is a danger to our communities, especially our children," Sunak said in the message.
According to the American Bully Kennel Club, American Bullys come in four sizes: Standard, Pocket, Classic and XL. As the BBC reports, they emerged in the USA in the late 1980s from a cross between American Pit Bull Terriers and American Staffordshire Terriers. Other breeds were later introduced. The goal was an even more muscular dog.
According to the United Kennel Club, a US-based dog breeding association, aggressive behavior towards people is "uncharacteristic and highly undesirable" for American Bullies.

Let me say again - a Pit Bull can be the sweetest most sweet, sweet loving baby doll male or female in the world - it just depends.

Not sure this will "get in" in time, but there was a pit bull dog at my getaway place came up to my porch doorstep and I pet that sweet little fella - he was lonely. Sort of like how the 2nd Amendment - seriously - it is similar to a pit bull ain't it?
Really - any dog can turn mean if not treated properly and YES some breeds take humans who know how to treat a dog or who can discern a troubled dog with some sort of "natural defect" - in which case, for a big ass mean as hell strong biting dog like this - tis advisable not to have the dog in your company most of the time if it was born defective. Otherwise, I suspect these dogs like any dog - mans best companion is what they are.

All dogs can be trained.
However, breed tendancies are a common trait in the way the brain is wired.
The pitbull was engineered to be a fighting dog. To kill. It should come as no surprise that any dog with the DNA of a pitbull in it's make up can be suspect.
Maybe they can develop an mRNA shot to mess with the part of the DNA responsible. It's been tried before in "other applications".
