Not too far? Too far for what? Without looking at a map, the distance from Mount Palomar to the test sites in NM is 700+ miles. I'm fairly sure prevailing winds are going the wrong way, anyway. Be interesting to see a collection of radioactive dust around the observatory.
Also, did we go back and look at preceding photos of the area?
