The blinding flash left one woman with severe burns, officials said, during a sudden thunderstorm over Kolomna, 75 miles southeast of Moscow.

Footage showed people wading through a deluge of rainwater before an immediate bolt appeared to shoot down, visibly terrifying those in the vicinity and causing some to fall over in shock.

The bolt is said to have hit an electric scooter first before the woman was also struck after standing nearby. She was seen being carried through the floodwater with clear signs of blackening from the lightning.

After the lightning bolt hit, the woman was reportedly unable to stand up on her own.
