Late spring Colorado snowstorm knocks out power for 210,000
A late spring Colorado snowstorm dumped several inches in the Denver metro area Saturday and knocked out electricity for about 210,000 customers, officials said.
The wet snow weighed down tree branches and sent them toppling onto power lines, the KUSA television station reported. Much more snow fell in mountainous regions of Colorado.
By Saturday night, power had been restored to 160,000 customers but about 50,000 still did not have it back, the Xcel Energy Colorado utility said in a statement.
The small Colorado community of Cripple Creek near the base of Pike's Peak got 20 inches (51 centimeters) of snow, KUSA reported.
Lets cut to the chase. Has the circular windflow pattern at the poles of planet earth (elevation 10 hPa in atmospheric pressure) oscillated every six-months the way they have lately with high flows in the north one part of the year and high flows in the south at the other solstice time? High circular flows with much velocity? That is my question - can anybody here proffer an answer other than it must be some sort of magnetic interaction twixt the sun and the planet? So, some speculate this comet K2 might have a perturbance creating affect, and that may be correct, but it is still speculation because when is the last time it happened, and do you have the data from that time?
Buffalo_Ken - hey WN3, as sort of a token for RC (may he rest in peace until he decides his next move), being this place (that being the place of comments on an article) is presently occupied by just you and I and the sott.net editors presumably, how about if circumstances go in a certain way, we come back here for some chatting.
Buffalo_Ken You have Nullschool, I suggest you continue to monitor the development of cold air in the Northern hemisphere, but more importantly, observe how its interactions with the warmer equatorial air.
You'll notice sweeping arms off cold air that rotates across the Northern hemisphere and how they are distorting all previous atmospheric models.
2022 winter be be devastating for many, 2023, I'd personally rather not think about.
Winternights3 - ok, one thing seems different is the high energy wind patterns over the Antarctica seem to last longer then over the North Pole at the same elevation and thankyou for your suggestion. I went back a few years and over Antartica, the flows seem to stay strong for long.
I'm not in a good mood just now, the insurance company is playing games with my daughter's vehicle, and while I don't pave the path for my daughter, when somebody treats her unfairly, I sort of feel like they are treating me likewise - my daughter knows how to communicate.
So what is the appropriate response to a daughter been treated unfairly? Well, it just depends but the 2nd collision shop knows it is a scam and the 1st shop was in on it with the Progressive insurance company.....and sometimes when I decide it is time to kick some ass, I can be forceful, moreso when my daughter is involved because, well just because and I suspect you know.
You know it comes in many directions when it tries to enter your brain and the key to success is to hold onto your wits!
I've had enough of someone else's propaganda. I'm for truth, no matter who tells it. I'm for justice, no matter who it's for or against. I'm a human being first and foremost, and as such I am for whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole.
