The man at the centre of the latest Salisbury Novichok scare is a suspected pusher of cocaine, ecstasy, diazepam and ketamine.

Alex King, 42, is charged with 12 counts of possession with intent to supply class A, B and C drugs and is on bail until his trial next year.

King and Russian wife Anna Shapiro fell violently ill whilst dining in the Wiltshire town on Sunday but both have been discharged from hospital.

The glamour model told friends recently that she was a "honeytrap spy" tasked with seducing men for Israeli spy agency Mossad.

The Mirror can also reveal she is a high-class ยฃ4,000 a-night escort.

The newlyweds were rushed to hospital in separate ambulances and King was put in an induced coma.

Medics in protective biochemical suits "decontaminated" Anna and a waiter who helped her with King.

Anna claims she and Alex were fleeing their Central London home via Salisbury to avoid being hit by Russian assassins, like ex-spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia.

They survived but local woman Dawn Sturgess died after finding a discarded perfume bottle the Russians had thrown away.

Anna says her father was a general in the Russian army and that she is hated by the regime because she "opposes" President Vladimir Putin and has rejected her home country.

She said in an interview today: "I'm sure the Russians think I'm a British spy. People make assumptions about me but I publicly renounce Putin and the country of my family."

Anna claims she worked for Mossad after moving to Israel from Russia in her teens before fleeing and claiming asylum in the UK to study law.

She told friends: "I spied on my own friends and even used my looks to seduce men. I was too young to know that what I was doing was wrong.

"After I travelled to England I studied law and started a new life - now I work as a model and an escort."

King and co-accused Baljit Gill, from Bexley, South East London, will be tried at Southwark crown court in South London.

Putin's spokesman declined to comment on the "absurd" claims.
