James O'Keefe has got to be one of the true heroes of the 2016 election campaign.
More than any other single investigative journalist, he and his team at the now legendary Project Veritas, exposed the appalling corruption festering in America's political system, and successfully beat back a vicious smear campaign aimed at silencing him.
The main thrust of his argument was that the mainstream media is too corrupt to be able to defend itself against crusading investigative efforts like his, and that not only is it doomed, it is already dead.
And excellent presentation - very much worth watching.
In this speech he made at a libertarian conference recently, he takes a victory lap, and provides some key insight into the nature of mainstream media today, and talks about Project Veritas and what it does.
Some quotes:
"Social media is now more powerful than the media,"
"The media is dead - we killed it."
"These people are such corrupt scum, but the good news is - they lost and the facts prove it."
"People are leaving the mainstream media because they want to know the truth,"
"..because they want to know the truth."
True, but not many... most gravitate to the usual 'social media' sites because they spend most of their time there... so the state propaganda depts are going there to secure their positions for the future... to keep control of the migrating herd... like any shepherd watching over its flock... the sheep go where the grass is greener etc.... painting burnt out grass green just isn't working... but that doesn't mean most people are consciously looking for the truth. It'd be nice if that was true, but they seem to simply go where they find things/people/opinions/game or whatever else they like.... basic level of experiencing life... they are mostly forming basic bias, making basic choices... the medium has changed. They don't watch the mainstream media because they don't find it very entertaining anymore... and they find stuff on the net more entertaining... and so far, there is little to stop them, the PTB will need a new Inquisition, but to do so means a major adjustment in their propaganda, thus the increase in restraints in school to prepare the young for a more restrained reality.... same in every other facet or medium for 'entertainment'... the religions still are for some, but not most.. the social stigma for dropping it and other products from one's basket of things to buy, enjoy, encourage etc. isn't there much anymore, a recent example is the 'liberal intellectual' crap we see in the MSM these days... still pushing their rights for any group that can 'divide and conquer' the mindset of the masses.
Same as always... only the medium changes, the message remains essentially the same... 'Do as I say, not as I do', or Else! The PTB have to find a better means to herd up all the herd roaming around and going stray... before more start waking up.
