That's what parents might be wondering after they see student Hunter Whitney's recent "mystery mush" lunch.
Had a very #healthylunch today. The apple definitely made up for the "mystery mush" #ThanksMichelleObama pic.twitter.com/RWCnQRCxJKWhen asked, the student theorized it was rice or an "artificially flavored rice substitute."

Whitney confirms the lunch was served at Richland Center High School in Wisconsin.

This is my lunch. I'm in high school. #ThanksMichelleObama pic.twitter.com/02t4MScBIeMany students are targeting their anger at First Lady Michelle Obama, who championed the effort to create more "healthy" school lunches.

It's chicken finger Friday! Oh wait no it's not, #ThanksMichelleObama"Mr. Speaker, the Federal food police now control what American children are permitted to eat in public schools. The First Lady has said, "We just can't leave it up to the parents," U.S. Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) said in a recent speech on the House floor.
- Malachai Dobbins (@Black_Emmet) November 14, 2014
He continued:
"Several things are wrong about this totalitarian control of children. Kids say the portions are so small or the food is so disliked they must smuggle food from home or just go hungry. This leads to the Federal Government food being wasted and thrown away at the end of the day.
What is next?
Are the Federal food bureaucrats going to force-feed schoolchildren with government food?
It should not be the role of Washington and the Federal Government to control what children eat. That is the responsibility of parents.
Americans are not stupid and cannot leave it up to the almighty Feds to determine what is best for our kids. The Federal Government should not raise our children because the Federal Government is not the parent of my kids or my grandkids, whether Washington likes it or not."
That freak prison warden running the school lunch programs now?
I thought the states was the shining light of the modern world? Kids in Columbia eat better than that, and their poor as dirt.
