If you look at both sides of the story, one side is insinuating that teachers there make too much money and are a target for cuts, while the other side is angry because they have seen the banks and the elite getting bailed out - so why should they be targeted instead.
I believe that this is only the tip of the iceberg that awaits us all, and not just here in the U.S. Geopolitical unrest has been spreading around the world from Tunisia, Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Egypt, Libya to Ohio and Wisconsin in the U.S.
The underlying problem is money.
People are angry over higher prices, especially high food prices in other parts of the protesting world. Higher food and energy prices are creeping in to the American economy as well, and some predict the rate of increase to go higher as an inflationary environment gets underway.
People are angry about high unemployment, again, especially in other protesting nations where unemployment rates soar into the 50 percent range. In the U.S. the real unemployment rate (counting those who have fallen off their extended benefits) is in the neighborhood of 22 percent.
People are angry that they have been forced to bail out the banks who have received trillions of dollars in bailout money, as if to reward them for their risky behavior and bad bets which had brought them to the edge of collapse.
People are angry that the banks and hedge funds are continuing their risky behavior with their derivatives and 'exotic financial instruments', while the bailout money remains at the top of the food chain and is not flowing down to Main Street.
The majority of U.S. States are in deep financial doodoo, and we all know the brown stuff that the federal government is in...
The entire scheme is collapsing and we are starting to see the effects. More and more people are going to be affected by what must inevitably happen. That is, more cuts, higher taxes, more currency devaluation, more inflation, more unemployment, and a stagnant economy. When the number of 'unhappy people' reaches a threshold, they begin to make noise. This is what we are beginning to witness.
How do we prepare for the coming changes?
Eliminate debt where possible.
If you can afford it, buy extra food and consumables now, before prices go higher.
Keep extra cash nearby in case the banks close during a collapse.
Become more self sufficient and resilient to change.
Keep your eyes and ears open to the news around you.
Don't believe that the stock market will keep going up.
Plan as though the stock market could indeed collapse once again.

How many of these protesters are non-union? Teachers union and govt service employee unions are about all that's left and organized to protest, thus when their benefits are attacked, they can mobilize and stage a protest, but hardly any of group is, and probably why the usual political puppets are working hard to break down this last thorn in their side, for all the good it will do them as the entire economy has the rug pulled out from under it.
The USA and most Western nations have so many 'aid' programs to cushion the economic declines of 'capitalism', that this anger isn't given much of a chance to grow. It will take the next leg down in the economy for that to occur, and even then months are needed for the seed to grow. The protests abroad are a good example of this, as the problems and protests/strikes in those countries have mostly been around for over a year or more and has now reached the tripping point which is flooding the region, and just in time for the NWO to push the old one over the edge with it... as planned.
What to do if the sheep can't be made angry? Trigger the 'postal' types to push them over the edge in a different way, but it isn't the same is it? As fear has a much lower energy component than anger, which means much less food for the supper table.
... In, to dis-cover our illusions. In, to find our truest selves. In, to the presence of Consciousness. In, to the deepest reality of our being, with all the wisdom, strength, and serenity needed for navigating these momentous times.

right on target as usual. Take a look at what is happening over the rest of the world. Illegal drug spending at 40bil$/year , 10 times what big pharma makes. Chavez (smart guy) selling oil to the U.S. and buying weapons from the Russians. Colombia and Peru selling coke to the U.S.-Canada that have virtually become one. The rest of Latin America , along with Central and Mehico virtually non-existent. Europe dead, has been for years, even to cool the Irish down they made them GMO providers for Europe.Give candy to a baby...Anyway the average citizen cut off from the money supply especially the big bucks unless s/he provides "special services". EurAsia including Russia and China striving hard to survive and catch up. Middle East, the ultimate chaos . You 've ever wondered why they didn't take out the grocer this summer ?
They never will. The Nuclear Installations are U.S. made. Wake up! And finally Africa, untouched for hundreds of years. Its future ? The next generations' cultivating and feeding land. "Governments are the representatives of the rich". Max Weber (German philosopher). And in case governments don't go by the rules either in whole or in person there's always the intelligence services, which btw love me. Spartacus I admire your spirit but read Orwell's "Animal Farm". There are no dogs to chase away the pigs this time. EVERY REVOLUTION REINSTATES A "NEW" REGIME THAT DOES EXACTLY THE SAME. Revolution died a long time ago, so said by an Italian author , whose name unfortunately I do not remember, and was nearly crucified for that statement. You wanna do something ? Survive ? GET IN THE GAME, scam the scamers , fight fire with fire not a bucket of water.
Wasn't it Animal Farm's ending that was changed when made into a film? They took out the 'lesson learned' by the lead character at the end... sort of Dickens like in a modern sense of exploitation... at least that's what I heard the other day on NPR.
Chavez seems to feel he's next in line for this spread of engineered 'revolution'. It is interesting to see how the seeds of revolt are 'guided' in their 'growth', as their seems to be a rush now to remove Qaddafi from office with USA 'training' troops now entering East Libya. Aren't those 'trainers' usually CIA? And Chavez has felt that sort of heat for many years since he first took power with his USA education. There was an interesting article from Britain, with a rather lovely twist of writing: [Link]
Very funny, and perhaps another sign of the times as the puppets seem to be getting a sense of things to come.. namely the end of their reign as their 'friends' await in the wings to take over. India is a nice mess as usual, with so much grain rotting in storage while people are fighting inflation and the usual pangs of hunger... and China rather nicely using the boot of empire to stamp out the emerging shouts of change there... none of which will work in the hidden domains of the West, where economic collapse seems to be needed to push the cattle closer to the cliff's edge. Funny in a bizarro sense of humor, which is much needed in our times of change.
the ruling class are once again trying to make the working class pay for the crisis, as history has shown so many times before. Despite all their financial scams over the last 100 years, from derivatives, junk bond and finally the credit market. They cannot deal with the underlying problem of the declining rate of profit. Which is caused by two things, the build up of the forces of production and the reduction of real labour to do the same amount of work. This is based on capitalism major advanced and also its gravedigger, namely competition in the last 400 years of its history. The only solution is for the producers to seize ownership and control of the means of production, and in doing so transform society into a truly democratic one. Based on production for human need, and not for profit for a few exploiters, Whoose only main aim is to defend wealth, power and privilege.
