Earth Changes
The aptly named Grand Cooling is exactly what it implies: the sun is going to cool. That cooling will also cool off the Earth. It will last from 30 to 50 years.
What exactly does global cooling mean? Well for one, Al Gore was sure wrong! The Earth isn't going to warm, it's going to get colder. Much colder. So cold a little or full-blown Ice Age will ensue. As a matter of fact, some scientists claim we're already in the early stages of an Ice Age.
Maybe the Nobel Committee and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences should ask Mr. Gore to return his awards.
Dutch Professor Cees de Jager, a prominent astronomer and solar expert, forcefully asserts that we the world is indeed entering for a long period of very low solar activity. The professor and his colleagues are certain Earth is heading for a "long Grand Minimum" - defined as either a Solar Wolf-Gleissberg or a Maunder Minimum - "not shorter than a century." His 2010 paper, "The forthcoming Grand Minimum of solar activity," outlined the extended period of time that the diminished solar radiation would affect the Earth.
The Maunder minimum lasted from 1645 to 1715. It was marked by a period of general cooling over the entire planet. The Minimum coincided with the coldest year of the Little Ice Age.
The astronomer, formerly the head of the Utrecht University Observatory in the Netherlands, has laid out the basis for the upcoming Ice Age.
Another very respected scientist, the late Dr. Theodor Landscheid, founder of the Schroeter Institute for Research in Cycles of Solar Activity in Waldmuenchen, Germany, was considered a giant in the field of climate research.
A prodigious author of many research papers, leader of studies, and the author of several books, Landscheidt investigated the Gleissberg Minimum. He rejected the now proven flawed science of anthropogenic global warming and even the concept of long-term global warming itself.
"Contrary to the IPCC's speculation about man-made global warming as high as 5.8° C within the next hundred years," he said, "a long period of cool climate with its coldest phase around 2030 is to be expected."
Referring to the sun's cycles, he pointed to their correlation with other periods of prehistory when ice spread across the northern hemisphere. "It can be seen that the Gleissberg minimum around 2030 and another one around 2200 will be of the Maunder Minimum type accompanied by severe cooling on Earth."
A few of the doctor's many papers on the sun's relation to Earth's climate include "Solar activity: A dominant factor in climate dynamics," and "New confirmation of strong solar forcing of climate." Both show the sun's relationship to Earth's climate and abrupt changes in that climate during periods of transition from warming to cooling and back to warming.
It is unfortunate that Al Gore's inconvenient truth turned out to be a fallacy. Global warming is much preferable to the climate the Earth actually seems on the verge of slipping into within a few short years.
Depending on the severity of the Ice Age, agriculture could be severely affected and millions could perish.

Lots of decades ago, I remember a geography teacher challenging the class to name the main requirement for an ice age. No-one got the answer right. He was looking for 'Heat'. Heat to evaporate the water into the atmosphere to form sun-blocking cloud and then fall as rain / snow / ice / hail etc. to form snow-packs and glaciers.
Maybe that's simplistic, but it also makes sense, especially with solar cooling thrown in as well.
Warm clothes may be a better investment than sunscreen!
So the planet's warming; the planet's cooling; the planet's cooling because it's warming; the planet's cooling/warming because it's a natural earth cycle; ditto because it's a result of the sun's cycle; if that's true, we can all wash our hands and walk away from what mankind has done to the planet because whatever happens it doesn't matter and it's not our fault. That's a relief then.
Definitely we should not move away from POLLUTING and ravaging the planet.
However, we should immediately pull back on the crazy financial and management schemes based on CO2 trading and levies. They are criminally and fraudulently destroying our civilization.
CO2 is doing no harm, many other gasses are.
The truth is finally emerging into the community conscience.
If by some chance, CO2 reduces the degree of cooling, apparently we should be thankful. But it is NOT a POLLUTANT! It is life to the plant world and therefore to us.
By all means fight the destruction of the atmosphere caused by carbon monoxide, methane, nitrous oxide etc.
Protection of the land from deforestation and pollution, and of the seas from oil and industrial contamination, and of fresh water systems should be absolutely a number one priority.
However, with technology more advanced than it was in in the Maunder Minimum we might be able to hold out...as long as the power stays on. Now, let's throw a World War into the picture and let's say EMP missiles knock out power...
Goodness, too many doomsayer thoughts...
Happy Thoughts....Happy Thoughts!
A Grand Cooling, along with a super volcano or two erupting is quite a scenario.
There I go again....stop it.
Let's not forget that the entire Solar System appears to be warming - and I am quite sure my little car trips into town are not making the Martian icecaps retreat.
Let's also not forget that probably the (real) biggest threat here on Earth is deforestation, because every schoolchild knows that we breath in oxygen and carbon dioxide comes out - but plants (and especially rainforests) breath IN carbon dioxide and oxygen comes out for us to breath in ...... and the actual percentage of destroyed rainforest is awesomely horrific. Over 75% of original forest is gone already... and increasing by the hour.
Another 'don't forget' is that there ARE many alternatives to fossil fuel, right here, right now, all suppressed by TPTB one way or another. Why? (Rhetorical question!)
Never mind - it's out of our hands now, and the account is in the mail ... ask Gaia if you don't believe me!
Time to take sides...... the ride will be rough anyway, but I'll ride with Gaia... Go Mama!
I hope that sentence two is a typographical error. Of course we need CO2 - nonetheless it needs to remain balanced within the overall function of the planet, as does the rest of the biological system.
As for methane etc., it looks like it's too late to reverse the process. Hope I'm wrong.
However, mankind doesn't help, chooses to be ignorant, or probably deliberatly hinders the process. Money first, lifeforms also rans.
Well, here it is 4 & 1/2 years later, some of the warmest years ever, least amounts of Arctic ice ever,
Greenland,Iceland, Antarctica ice sheets melting an an ever faster rate as are almost all other glaciers, more hotter days than cooler days (Note that none of these, except the first, require alleged adjustments of temperature readings. Just counting stuff. Also less snow cover on the planet. So when, exactly, is this cooling supposed to happen?
On the internet your stupid stays forever :-)
But perhaps we shouldn't blame Mr Gore for be awarded for his farce, but rather question his judges instead? Are they not still in place? And perhaps will remain so until it is convenient for them not to be? And then, just like in govt, religion, media etc, a new team will step in to save the day and announce how terrible things really are. Isn't that a lovely way to end the show?
